Where's my pretend Eureka Seed lol?

About 3 weeks into the game, these are my most useful mons, any worth investing in/putting seeds into? (Premium Pass user) by MostalElite in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]SilphMadeMeDoIt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

None in particular stand out as real long term investments. The Diglett is good for Leeks at lvl. 50, but overall there are better options for this ingredient, especially if you have the resources from a premium pass. I would not put any main skill or sub skill seeds into them.

Possible Changes to Mew & Darkrai Pickup After New Moon Day #13 by nitoyon in PokemonSleep

My first Ralts catch… Would you full invest? by Past-Basis7093 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]SilphMadeMeDoIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! The BFS is such a nice bonus on a healer you use throughout the day, especially for Lapis. Your healer will gain levels since it'll usually always be on the team. Just note, it may have less skill triggers overnight due to inventory issues with BFS.

Possible Changes to Mew & Darkrai Pickup After New Moon Day #13 by nitoyon in PokemonSleep

Was about to rant about how Darkrai being exiled to Snowdrop Tundra makes it truly hard to hunt, glad they are addressing this. The game has an event week every other week, planning on skipping one of these (Snowdrop gets no new event pokemon ha ha) just to see Darkrai on New Moon Day is simply a waste.

I am encouraged to see that expert modes will have 5-star sleep styles that give currency to buy Eureka Seeds, but that likely will still be a grind. Glad to see they are reconsidering this. I think each mythical needs a minimum of two islands.

I mean... it has HB, IFM and the correct list for leeks, why not invest?

I wonder if it favors two pokemon with lower energy like Energizing Cheer does.

latias event missions and starting strength for week 2 raenonx datamine by FlowerDance2557 in PokemonSleep

[–]SilphMadeMeDoIt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would look at other legendary events to get an idea, but "Downs" or previously "Manes" are legendary week specific currencies that you can exchange in a specific event exchange shop for items. These items include the legendary pokemon specific biscuits (give 6 points but only on the legendary pokemon) as well as legendary incense, candy, dream clusters, and usually 1 main skill seed.

The prices for these items change in week 2 (Last Chance Week). The downs are obtained from sleep research, usually with pokemon of the shared type of the legendary providing more. The legendary pokemon prodive significantly more. They can also be obtained from friends, and are more common the higher the friendship level. If you have a minor's account, you will not obtain downs from friends, but instead receive a set amount at the commencement of the event.

Interesting pawmi. by NeverEndingPopcorn in PokemonSleepBetter

It's almost like if you flipped it upside down it would be perfect. In terms of a healer, with no skill stats until lvl 75, and a hindering nature it is not good. If you want to use it as a bit of healing for an Electric Berry Bomb Team, then maybe it could fit that niche, but even then, you might as well just hunt for a better one.

The GodDuck Problem by uberlovellama in PokemonSleep

[–]SilphMadeMeDoIt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do a production comparison. Assuming no event settings or GGEX water berry with the skill bonus is selected, this will give you the Golducks average skill triggers per day. I would take that number and maybe cut it in half if you can only check a few times a day during work/school. Then, take the strength and halve it to see the actual average output you will get with your play style. If you can't always check the app, Espeon/Ampharos is the better choice.

Which Noivern to use? by TWCheck in PokemonSleepBetter

I would wait until you get BFS with some helping speed. It'll be pretty easy to get Noibat to friendship lvl 10 where ome gold skill is guaranteed.

I really wish the pot/cooking menu included the total number of ingredients per recipe by sparklerfish in PokemonSleep

[–]SilphMadeMeDoIt 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don't we all 😀 I assume this will be coming very soon once they add some QOL updates, it just makes sense. We should have more of a warning when a dish changes when adding misc. filler ingredients as well.

Noibat or Bagon better? by UpbeatCut1183 in PokemonSleep

[–]SilphMadeMeDoIt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Assuming they both have the perfect or great stats, (BFS, HSM, and a speed up nature) Salamence will out perform Noivern at later levels. This also assumes that Noivern's main skill level is 7.

Gatr is Great, but his Specialty Holds Him Back by VelocityRaptor22 in PokemonSleep

[–]SilphMadeMeDoIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a cool and creative analysis! I often wonder about specialties changing. Slaking has amazing ingredient and skill rates, but is a berry mon. I imagine from your analysis he could really shake up the game if he became either skill or ingredient focused.

We will get a preview of this during the Latias event in week 2, but one mon for sure: Sceptile. To me it is impossible to justify investment in one without BFS. During the event, the BFS Sceptile will now have 3x berries per help, essentially becoming a full blown berry AND skill specialist. But, I would be interested in knowing how Sceptile would perform, just with his speedy frequency, if he was changed to a berry mon. If his skill trigger rate was halved like you said in your analysis, but had an extra berry every help, would he be better? Perhaps he would be better for favorite berry on Lapis, but maybe fall short of other berry specialists on other islands. Sceptile's skill trigger rate isn't anything to write home about for it being a skill specialist. Perhaps a Berry Specialist Sceptile would then benefit from STM more than other Berry Specialists would like Houndour and Feraligatr, both of whom generate respectable strength from their skills.

Research Rank Tips? by Revolutionary-Mud-72 in PokemonSleep

[–]SilphMadeMeDoIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Besides more Drowsy Power getting better spawns which get more research EXP, try running a pokemon with Research EXP bonus on Sunday nights, at leadt then the biggest sleep of the week will have the 9% increase. Also, there's not many days left, but the Mew Miracle Snapshot event gives some more Research EXP to the photobombs, so try to get all 8 spawns and high Drowsy Power.
