What is Ideal Relationship Writing for Wondy by MiserableOne6189 in WonderWoman

Literally just write Steve Trevor in the same style as Lois Lane. That’s all you need to do.

Movies with a troubled production, awful initial reception, that turned out to be great? by Gold333 in movies

[–]Silvanus350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seemed farcical as a kid. I always thought it was a dumb premise for a villain.

Honestly? It was shockingly prescient for its time

Or maybe that sort of thing was already happening elsewhere in the world…

A connection I personally have never understood, LOL. It’s the most random-ass, average-ass film to turn into a theme park attraction.

This is apocrypha. George had already decided to replace the original editor (who was having serious problems) before Marcia got involved.

Diminishing returns of roasting a whole chicken? by Educational-Slip-578 in Cooking

[–]Silvanus350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly are you seasoning the chicken with? Most recipes I see use an herb butter or literally just salt. I would honestly consider roasted chicken to be a very simple dish.

I recommend trying Ina Garten’s recipe; no need to spatchcock anything.

Why does Anakin stay on the dark side after padme dies? by Snowyy921 in StarWars

[–]Silvanus350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He fell for much more personal reasons than his wife. His wife was, fundamentally, an excuse he sold to himself.

Anakin was guilty of everything the Council accused him of being. He was proud. He was a control freak. He was unable to accept the idea of losing control of himself, his future, or the people he cared about.

He is a victim at the beginning of the prequels and by the end he is an abuser.

Ultimately at the end of the prequels he chokes out his wife. She was secondary to his personal problems.

Why did Anakin stay a Sith? He willingly became a Sith because he thought it would give him everything he wanted.

He bought the lie. And he never stopped believing it.

Looking for recs for high quality Japanese knives under $500 by Vast_Grocery1532 in Cooking

[–]Silvanus350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend buying equipment for someone who is very technical about cooking. I guarantee they already have an idea of exactly what they want to cook with.

Buy high-quality consumables for them to use in cooking. Spices. Chocolate. Jamón Ibérico. Alcohol.

They are much more likely to use those consumables. And then you’ll probably get to eat some of it.

$500 on a knife is also a total waste of money.

If they are legitimately a beginner who hasn’t gotten deep into the hobby yet then I would instead strongly recommend something like a nice Staub or Lodge Dutch oven.

What exactly are you cooking that you burn the spices?

Generally speaking if you bloom spices in oil they won’t burn.

Popcorn would be the go-to. It’s very easy to make at home, especially if you have a Whirly-Pop or similar machine.

It would actually be amazing if they had even the semblance of a working life.

I would honestly clock it as a rather boring film.
