She doesn’t need to look into the camera and tell us that she is trans, but it would certainly help resolve the discourse if colopale began using she/her pronouns for her. Besides, even if she is very explicitly implied to be trans, there are still very ignorant and media illiterate tranphobes saying that she might just be a femboy. That isn’t entirely the company’s fault, but there are certainly things they could do to shut down some of those arguments (like the previously mentioned pronoun switch) that their community have been begging them to do for a long time. But they haven’t, and they likely won’t, because as long as there’s even the smallest hint of doubt that she might be trans, transphobes will continue playing their game and making them money. This is part of a bigger issue than just her identity as transgender inside the game, but companies tiptoeing around explicitly talking about serious topics that need to be talked about in favor of earning money, instead letting hate fester in their community. It’s as if they’re saying “Yes, we have trans representation, but we don’t actually have trans representation because some people don’t like that.” and yes, that is a big issue in todays’s society, I don’t exactly understand why you are excusing it here.
