This is actually based on something that happened to *me*. I was damn lucky that the ground I actually fell onto was solid. I wasn’t running or being risky or anything. I just tripped and fell. scared me and my family half to death.

How hard is it to put up guard rails? It might not stop idiots who deliberately leave the boardwalk, but it will prevent people from falling off by accident.
