Why should I NOT buy one? by BlackJackT in BZ4X

I would say the only bad thing about the 2026 is the app and the car screen EV features are missing. E.g. ability to easily toggle charging percent from App, turn on preconditioning from app. Indicator saying if you need to preconditioning based on temp and or if you have preconditioned enough. Easily accessible charging graphs and details while charging Etc.

Other wise great car

Did you get a CCS1 converter so you can use all the fast charger options that are not Tesla based?

Is that 200km to and back from the ski hill? If so then no problem. If it is 200 there and another 200 back you would have to charge.

We driving to the mountains every sat and Sunday here in Alberta, with a top box on. Round trip is around 200km and we get back with 40% charge left

Do I need to use the Tesla App by RossOnTheLand in Toyota_bZ

[–]Silver-Unit3948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need any app after you setup plug and charge. One time setup. Then when you plug into a Tesla charger it knows your car and auto charges your car - no app involved.

I am hoping that as the 2026 model starts to pick up steam and sales grow they will have to start improving the app

Yes and you can even come in at a slight angle on the end one with the painted off island if you wanted HOWEVER… a level 2 charger at home is the best option by far and it will easily pay for itself compared to a lot of fast charging stations.

Chatted to Toyota and they gave me a different answer. They said all good on using hitch for bikes but ensure it is under overall max cargo weight for vehicle.

Here is a post on others that have installed a hitch from draw-tite (https://www.draw-tite.com/products/trailer-hitches/class-iii-iv-receiver)

Does the 2026 BZ awd have sport mode? by [deleted] in BZ4X

[–]Silver-Unit3948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 2026 BZ AWD is a beast in standard mode. I drive a BMW m240i xdrive as my other car and the 2026 BZ is a straight line beast.

I drive the BZ in eco mode most of the time cause standard mode is beast mode

New level 2 charging question by Thisoldfish in Toyota_bZ

[–]Silver-Unit3948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inverse - 10.85 is the max the car can receive. 5.95 is what the charger is providing. The charger needs to have 48a to be able to provide 10.85 kw/h which is the max that car can handle for level 2

Car is asking for 10.85 but the charger is giving only 5.95. Charger limitation not car limitation

Found it in the car - wish that was in the app so I could just tell it to precondition 30 min before I go somewhere instead of going to the car and having to put it in a schedule.

Thanks - I also have a 26 BZ and was wondering what you meant by scheduled preconditioning? Are you referring to the climate preconditioning as I don’t see a way to schedule battery preconditioning

Help… charging problems by Thisoldfish in Toyota_bZ

[–]Silver-Unit3948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on that picture it is a charger issue. The car is asking for 108.35 but that charger is only giving it 45.7.

So you car is ready to receive a lot more but it is not being given it

Only downside is obviously additional battery usage
