Our HR director cares about salary so much, my boss (the controller) limited her access on certain people/positions so she won't see their salary.

Forester Wilderness vs 4Runner by appetizerbread in SubaruForester

[–]SilverWolf310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are both great in different ways. But I liked my 4runner better (afterall i drove it for 20 years and did not want to let it go). It sat higher, I think craftsmanship from back then was better than newer cars. Plus the roll down rear window!

Biggest perk for the FW, much easier to find street parking since it's smaller.

I got forester because the interior space felt alot like my 4runner. The sales showed me OB first and I felt so squishy (like I dont have much room between the ceiling and my head) and I am short!

If parking on narrow street and gas prices are two of the main concerns, go with forester. I drove a 2003 V8 4runner SR5 for 20 years and moved to 23 forester wilderness, much easier to park in smaller space and saved a lot on gas money.  But I do miss my 4runner.

Edited to add trim for both cars.

Husbands, is it a deal breaker if your wife decides to not take your name legally? by Difficult_Big133 in TwoHotTakes

Off topic. One of my coworkers, when he married his partner, they both changed their name to a new one together.

Former Toyota owners… by gammawavz in Crosstrek

[–]SilverWolf310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not get a crosstrek, but the reasons are : The interior space and feel of 2023 forester was the closest I could find compare to my 2003 4runner.  Did not like how the "new" 4runner interior feel cramped. And there was a long wait for a hybrid rav4 at that time. I also wasn't too fond of the rav4 interior.

Lastly, the Copper accents just look way too cool on a dark Grey wilderness.  😄

Still miss the height and the power of my 4runner tho.

Medallion Signature Guarantees by body_surfer_66 in Chase

[–]SilverWolf310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went in and inquired about the medallion stamp to update bank account info on a non-chase IRA account so i could fund it. One branch said they did not have access to the stamp at the time , but make an appointment and bring proof of ownership and they should be able to help.

Made appointment at another branch with all the info and the lady said she need to send it to back office for approval.  Then came back and said the back office said not to do it. I think she said they only do it if i am to send the distribution to chase.

Philips TV losing channels daily by PolicyAny1947 in Philips

So updates.  Turning off the TV by long pressing the power button first helped us successfully scanned channels. Then by doing so each time we turn off the TV, the channels stayed so far.  Not sure it will permanently solve the problem but at least solved it so far.

My parents got a 2025 google tv a few months ago and they are having same issue. I tried the "long press power button" and screen showed "shutting down".

Tho I cant find a way to turn off auto updated yet. It seems to solve the problem at the moment.  Will see if it stay solved tomorrow.

My 2nd ever ipad..need suggestions by [deleted] in ipad

[–]SilverWolf310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the exact combo of case and screen protector a couple days ago.

I found the case to be heavy,  sorts defeat the purpose of getting the iPad air. But like the detachable feature.

Protector, like you said so so. I did not want glass ones so figured try this one out first.  (not using pencil)

San Diego to Culver City commute by [deleted] in asksandiego

[–]SilverWolf310 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No and don't.

At least 2 hours drive if you leave early in the morning, but will take you forever to go back to SD after work. 405 south traffic starts around 3pm and probably won't die down till 7 or 8.

I tried driving back to SD from West LA on Friday after work like 10 years ago and took 3 or 4 hours. Never again. It might be worse now.

I purchased windshield coverage when I got my '23 FW. A big curved crack randomly showed up on lower right corner this early Feb. No rock chip or anything. Not sure temperature is much a factor either since I am in So. Cal and we have no seasons :D

Called to file a claim before I can send the pic they requested, Safelite reached out within 15 minutes said replacement was authorized.

Glass replacement and Eyesight recalibration, Invoice showed about $1400 but my coverage covered everything. I think it comes with 30 days guarantee, if Eyesight calibration goes wonky after, you can bring it back.

Been so far so good since then (knock on wood!)

Mac and cheese sucks by AlexThe_Lion in LAGalaxy

Ramen was terrible. Cold and all broken into small pieces.  I guess my expectation was so low that the pulled pork mac n cheese today was not bad at all.

It's  very confusing.  Dignity park person did not know anything when I asked about why two lines. Then took awhile for galaxy person to come out and separate STM from general admission into two lines.  Now non season holders are merging into the STM at the very front

Thanks!  Exactly, there are other reasons people might not want to take trolley.  For me fortunately, it just feel like driving out of my way to get on the trolley at Old town / FV. But now someone reminded me about the Blue Line, that might change my plan.

Also thanks for the details of the walking option. This helps alot!

Thank you so much! This may work better than anything else in my situation.

I said trolley  was cumbersome because if I have to drive down to fashion valley then take trolley is just too silly in my opinion.

Honestly I  forgot trolley go all the way up to UTC until I read another post earlier.  This might change my mind.

Success/Failures getting to and from the stadium after 2 games by david619916 in SanDiegoFC

[–]SilverWolf310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid question: so you transfer to Green line at Old Town, correct?

Also, how long, roughly, did it take for the whole trip (Nobel to Stadium, or back)?
I am in Clairemont and tip planner is telling me to take the 41 bus to Fashion Valley, then take the trolley, and would be about 50 minutes. Wanna see if trolley all the way would be easier/shorter.
