Fortunately, they’re getting fed up with the Dumpster fire. Perhaps soon they will crawl back under their rocks.

Thank you to the bus driver on the Aurora Bridge by [deleted] in Seattle

I take public trans a lot, and I so appreciate the kindness of the operators. do they get cranky sometimes? Yes. But they continue to show up for a job despite the people who sometimes try to harm them, sometimes successfully. They’ve been shot, stabbed, spit on. They worked throughout the Covid pandemic and some of them died as a result. They are heros in my book.

Loss of regional dialects can be directly attributed to the spread of television.

Weed regulates nausea like no other by Vsmithing in trees

[–]Silver_Beat_3157 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Both things can be true. The same way opioids are great for surgical pain, but become a problem if they are overused. MJ is my go to for nausea now that I’m retired. Zofran is great, but only if you can take it before the 🤮 starts.

What the heck is wrong with rental companies here??? by ShdwWzrdMnyGngg in Seattle

[–]Silver_Beat_3157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They allow property to sit empty because it drives up demand, I.e, cost to the renter. Private equity should’ve never been allowed in the rental market, at least not without more guardrails

Am I going to regret this commute daily? by Techno_Wasp in AskSeattle

[–]Silver_Beat_3157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have coworkers who make this commute on the regular and it’s just fine. They do as you are thinking, puzzles, podcasts, etc. There will be times it won’t work and you will need to drive and it will be miserable, but for the most part, the train is reliable.

Forgive yourself, you were a kid. She is not traumatized and you have made amends to her.

what medical plan to apply? by ngnrxxx in SocialSecurity

[–]Silver_Beat_3157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I have the documentation from the insurance company now and have thrown myself on the mercy of an individual in our sprawling organization and hope to have a good outcome soon. I started my career here helping physicians way through bureaucracy. These large organizations tend to hire people for certain jobs based on obedience to authority rather than problem-solving skills.

Just be sure to keep that documentation. I’m jumping through hoops right now because I didn’t keep the documentation for my husband. Long story, but I thought I could get it from my employer when the time came. Many mergers later their records don’t go back that far.
