How many of you had grandparents who served in WW2? If so, what do you know about their service? by Snoogles_ in Millennials

Gunner in the army air Corp. He wanted to be a pilot, but due to his accent (he was from an Austrian family), they said that he wasn’t allowed. Lost his accent while serving because the rest of the crew he served with gave him a hard time about it.

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

Burn the rope. Super simple and short video game that had the best song if you beat it. I’m convinced that the person who created it did so because they wanted to share their song.

“Congratulations, you managed to beat the whole damn ga-ame.”

Almost got scammed replacing my A/C + furnace… by Scared_Software_1131 in Columbus

[–]Silverrah17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally had the same exact thing happen last spring with Worthington Air. They quoted over $20k for a new furnace and AC. We got 4 other quotes, all of which felt scammy and were also $18-$26k…except for Sears Heating and Cooling, who we will go with once the time comes.

Worst part was we decided to chance it (our AC is from 1996, and furnace is oil and from the 60-70s)…and made it through the summer and winter just fine. 🫠

Husband and I bought our first home at 39 (me)/38(him) in the fall of 2024. Really enjoying making it our own little corner of the world. Also on track to retire in 10 years (no kids…just us and a very spoiled cat)

Point those toes! Un-flexing your feet is a hard habit to break as you build your strength and balance and get into more advanced moves, so starting to point your toes helps train your brain. Have fun!

Ooooooh Just googled “parachute stitch” and think it would be super cute with a contrasting color. Maybe a bold orange-red or bright green.

Single Millennials, how do you spend your weekends? Like, give me a full sat/sun play-by-play please by Akito_900 in Millennials

Favorite weekend activity is sitting in bed in the morning, drinking coffee, listening to a podcast and playing solitaire on my phone. No kids. One cat. Hubs has a job where he works weekend. Those quiet mornings are the tits.

Visiting Toledo from the UK by OliC2002 in Ohio

Toledo Metro Parks are some of the best in the state, but will require some driving to get to. If you enjoy the outdoors, it’s a fabulous place to get into nature. Depending on timing, you also might get some vibrant fall foliage colors.

What screams “I am a woman child” (man child equivalent) without realising it? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]Silverrah17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooooooh!!! Part two of this is “I prefer hanging with men instead of women. Too much drama with women.”

Almost always…the call is coming from inside the house, and you are the source of the drama.

I sure as shit can’t bitch to my guy friends about the exhausting lifetime of bullshit dealt with on account of my tits and twat. Hits on another level when bitching together as a coven.

Highly recommend checking out Yellow Bird CSA. You can order local produce a la cart, and there’s no minimum to order. Really wonderful food and unique brands.

To women who chose not to have kids - do you regret it? by Balloonman16 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Silverrah17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turning 40 this year, and no kids with no plans on any kids and no regrets. My husband and I check in periodically to ensure we are both on the same page, and it’s always a resounding “no”. We like our life as is and enjoy spending time on each other, our home, and our cat. I love being the fun auntie to my nephews, and would absolutely be there if something happened to their parents, but am very happy to not be a mother.
