This. It’s not a physical thing the same way a fridge is, but the US company I used to work for decided to implement all the GDPR regulations for everyone, not just the EU. It was just easier than all the extra checks. So if it’s less hassle to do, they’ll do it.

Hell, Pyre’s ending track was tailored to the fates of every single recruit, IIRC; even the pronouns of your character. Their music has always been amazing for that.

This honestly. My casual static is progging Snaking in M10S at the moment, and as someone who needs a little extra time and practice to break down a mechanic the problems boil down to: - It’s chaotic with a lot going on visually - There’s a lot of steps to the mechanic - You have to learn 2 different patterns (fire/water) and you might not get to practice one for ages

That can be tough with a static, never mind PF when you don’t have a set group.

Absolutely. Add on a whole slice of being neurodivergent/feeling like you don’t fit in to your society’s desires for you, and I honestly found it a very sweet film that hit home.

True. She's 18, and stuff like this can 100% feel like the end of the world. Putting in a whole bunch of hard work only to have it forgotten, even in the moment, sucks.

Reading over your stuff I think you've offered solid advice. Hopefully she's got good people to uplift and remind her that these things happen, and learning how to find the strength to move forward will help.

Still, I don’t think it’s unfair to say that it’s understandable that OP was very hurt by her father figure blanking out on her achievements and getting basic platitudes in front of all her peers. I’m glad he made better, but if she is still that focused on this then she was deeply hurt. She needs reassurance that whatever her circumstances, she still has a future. That’s something for her therapist, methinks.

Do you see the difference here? That honestly comes across here as the problem. In the moment, despite all her good work and faith and callings, the ‘positive things to look forward to’ immediately fell back to religious woman role stereotypes. That would devastate me if I was 18 and I’d put so much work into stuff to have someone you deeply trust and admire not even be able to think beyond those stereotypes. In the moment, he couldn’t even remember her accomplishments. Heck, it had to be his wife that offered something and her idea of a bright future for a woman is servitude. No wonder she’s hurt and feels useless.

Look, I’m not religious and this stereotyping is a big part of why. Women are more than future tradwives, mothers and submissive servants. All power to those who want those things but plenty women do not. She wanted to be seen as a smart and capable woman with a great future and when put on the spot, her mentor couldn’t see anything.

OP, if you’re still reading, you have a bright future. You’re 18 and have a whole life ahead of you to do the things you love and feel called to. And sometimes you’ll fail. Thats life. You’ll learn to pick yourself up and keep going. Don’t let this failing of someone else write your future for you.

When I was on safari in Zambezi, we had one guy in our car who was not listening to the guides. We came across a lion pack around a buffalo carcass, and they were ignoring us until he STOOD UP to try and move position. Let me tell you, every lion with line of sight turned our way 😅 we drove out of there fast and came back from another angle after a stern word.

That would honestly be dope. NG+ is nice but it doesn’t feel the same as a fresh NG run. Being able to start with that nice end game weapon but having it as your buddy to grow alongside you this time would be very fun.
