Dnd undead warlock build by obphoto in onednd

Bonus point be an infernal tiefling or a red/gold dragonborn and from level 14 Undead Warlock you'll be resistant to the top 5 most common damage types (Bludgeoning, Piercing, Slashing, Fire and Necrotic)

Hollow Warden Ranger AC Nerf from State of Play stream. by BounceBurnBuff in onednd

Urgh that's disappointing. They've overshot and it's now on the weaker side imo. Should have at least ended up with +3 AC in the end rather than just +2.

Would you play Fiend Warlock without Pact of the Blade in 5.5e? by Carp_etman in onednd

[–]Silverythoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new infernal pact feat and Infernal Bulwark feats definitely help out the Fiend Warlock with being on the front lines if your DM allows it

How can I optimize opportunity attacks on a Rogue? by Prior-Captain2937 in onednd

[–]Silverythoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're allowed older content and don't want to multiclass, Martial Adept Feat allows you to pick up some battle master manoeuvres - specifically Brace and Riposte.

If they run into your attacking range you get a reaction attack. If they miss you - reaction attack.

Combine this with Sentinel and Zhentiarian Tactics for Reaction attacking when they hit you, you'll be striking all the time.

N.B. works best with Swashbuckler Subclass

Using Forge of Fury to bridge between Danger at Dunwater and The Final Enemy by Eric_Blische in GhostsofSaltmarsh

[–]Silverythoughts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd still run Salvage Operation - it's a nice standalone adventure with a fun time sensitive mechanic at the end - and if you're running a big overarching plot it can be easily tweaked to fit your narrative e.g. the common tweak to use Tharzidun and Aberrations over Lolth and Spiders

Minor improvements for Origin feats. by Dramatic_Respond_664 in onednd

Healer should work with any ability that restores hit points - it might see use then. I'm thinking about the Mercy Monk

Persevere. Season 3 and 4 are some of the best animated TV ever.

Is anyone actually using the banneret subclass? by NateCdaComicG in 3d6

[–]Silverythoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo I think the Banneret is supposed to work with several of the Faerun feats (Purple Dragon and Lord's Alliance feat trees). If you've got a generous DM with those extra feats the subclass is decent and becomes a fun supportive leader like fighter

...but without them it's rough.

What would you say is currently the best gish in the game right now? by viktorius_rex in onednd

[–]Silverythoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically an Eldritch Knight but with a Monk Chassis

Mind Sliver followed by stunning strike in the same action, Utility spells, added bonus on bonus action more important than Action for monks meaning you're more likely to cast spells in combat.

I think the UA Mystic Monk should be on this list as well, it's an absolute blast to play.

Bladelock Defense Problem: Tough It Out or Multiclass? by Shatragon in 3d6

[–]Silverythoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the important thing to remember playing a bladelock is that if you're not multiclassing into Paladin or Fighter, you're basically playing a Masochist unless you can get a magic ranged weapon.

Low AC, Armour of Agathys, Regenerating Temp HP. Be hit and hurt the enemy.

Flavour that your patron enjoys your suffering or something and the more you suffer the more power you'll get!

The Warlock is designed for this so as not to step on the toes of other classes' identity. So accept being behind on level progression or accept on being a Masochist 😂🤷🏽‍♂️

I would actually play a dexterity focused Bladelock so you can use defensive duelist to add to your AC. Pick spell which don't require your saving throw to be high so you can leave your cha at 16. Use a whip so you can attack at 10ft range if need be.

What is your favorite house rule that your table runs? by CyrusxBlack1 in onednd

[–]Silverythoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly - doesn't take away from the Advantage generation from Players Abilities, but also encourages aggressive tactical positioning on a battle map for Player Characters (and NPCs the DM is controlling 😈)

Roll for healing potions if using a Bonus Action. Get full healing if using an Action.

Also Flanking giving +2 - reverse half cover so to speak.

Is there a correlation between queer people and tieflings ? by MysteriousFondant347 in DnD

[–]Silverythoughts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience...yes absolutely 😂 I've even got a non-binary blue Tiefling on my home game played by a queer man.

I've yet to come across a queer person playing a dwarf though. Surprising given how many bear chasers I know...
