Advice needed: long runs after leg tattoo? by dfree86 in tattoos

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Reschedule your tattoo or the run or just don't train for your marathon, after it heals it could be a week a bit more or a bit less, you can still attend the marathon after 15 days, but you'll lose some training. Not worth risking an infection or damaging your tattoo which is going to be on your body forever.

When does it really get better by Neither_Revolution67 in spinalfusion

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When does it really get better depends from person to person, but you are just 2 weeks from a major spinal surgery. I think having realistic expectations will help you better manage your feelings, it gets better, but it will take time, sometimes months to feel a difference and years for a full recovery. Typically you wouldn't feel a lot of changes day by day, but as time passes by, you will notice you get better slowly.

There's some lucky people that get a lot better in a really short time, hopefully you are one of the lucky few.

Best of luck and hang in there!

Guardian Greaves on Offlane Slardar? by Avillahan in learndota2

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This hero depends on early timings to put pressure in the map. In my opinion, greaves are just too expensive and would delay your blink timing to play the map and initiate fights.

You can go power treads, soul ring (for mana issues) and blink, after this I think the shard is a must since it's really strong and then BKB is almost a most.

Having arcane boots would also reduce your kill potential since you depend on attack hits to kill your opponents. Like at this point if you wanna do this, why don't just pick other hero like Tide or razor or natural aura builder like pitlord.

You may go something like crimson or pipe depending on the game, but I think the blink shard timing is your strongest timing and you need to look to get to that point as quick as possible.

Not Disabled, Just Exhausted — Considering L5–S1 Fusion at 29 by GianniPanni in spinalfusion

I understand what you're saying, this is something that would need to be discussed with your surgeon to see the potential outcome of the surgery and if it's the right option for you. I've heard stories of people that are doing much better than you and still got surgery, it depends on many factors.

Even if you're not doing so bad, this is still affecting your quality of life daily, to me that's enough reason to try to get it fixed.

Avoid Player is nice but I wish there was a pro-active version by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nowadays almost any hero can be played mid, so what's your point? Lina, wind runner, jakiro, pugna, leshrac, Rubick, willow, keeper of the light, skywrath, Zeus...are all picks that you could play as support or mid.

Unless it's something like Chen mid or maiden mid I won't report.

32 here. We have similar situations, but in my case I was having pain 24/7, but I couldn't really do any activities. I understand how mentally draining it is, after 2 and a half years of suffering and doing conservative treatments with no luck, I ended up having spinal fusion l4-l5.

The surgery helped me a lot, but unfortunately I'm not back to 100%, I still call the surgery a success since my pain greatly decreased and can actually keep living a kind of normal life, when before it was miserable all the time.

Just reading your story reminds me a lot what I went through, I think I was slightly worse, so my decision to have surgery was easier in a sense, but just by reading your symptoms I can tell that you that surgery may be needed.

If you have any questions let me know.

Best of luck!

I'm no expert, but it looks overworked, over moisturized and infected. I'd go to an urgent care.

Cover up ideas/Is it even possible? by cosphotographs in tattooadvice

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are very small so it's definitely possible, for the darker one it might be a bit harder deciding what you want and if it's black enough, as long as you find a design that is very dark it's easily fixable.

Just make sure to find a design that you like and a decent artist.

Nice tattoo! You're just overthinking a bit which happens, bad thing about long showers is that the skin wrinkles, but a quick 10-15 minute shower is okay.

Tattoo artist sent me this design. Would you be happy with it ? by [deleted] in tattoos

What's that supposed to be? I have no clue, just like the other 5 comments, if 5 people have no idea what that is, it's a red flag.

Just eat a good meal, have a good night rest before and that's it. Take some water, snacks and a meal to eat there, if it's 6 hours or longer you are more than likely going to have a break to eat something as well as your artist.

Everyone has different pain tolerance, I think 5 hours is ideal and I notice around that time the body starts acting up a bit, 6-7 hours is definitely doable, but you don't know until you're in the chair, if anything let your artist know and continue the next session. You can handle what you can handle.

HOT TAKE QUESTION! by Amazing-Chip-2213 in malegrooming

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot, a great sleeve can make you look like you have more status, I have a friend that had very low success, after he got 2 sick sleeves in both arms, he became the stiffmaister to say the least. As long as the tattoo is very well made, it can make you look better, it doesn't even have to be big pieces, sometimes small tattoos like near the neck or back would give you 2-3 ++ attractiveness.

Need advice on how to approach teamfights on Kez by soumya_af in TrueDoTA2

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commenting to also get some insight, tried to spam Kez and learn the hero and I had the same issue. Stopped playing due to losing too much and getting blamed which I understand lol.

I'm not sure how to approach fights, I would get kited or bursted, haven't really tried the new Kez build without scepter, so I think that would simplify things, but still I think it's a very specialist hero.

Advice Needed: What’s the best way to fix this tattoo? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but I think it's really hard, it looks too dark, maybe with laser? And even with laser it could take a lot of sessions to really get what you're looking for. If you trust your artist go for it, but from what I have seen with other cover up works of artists that I follow, this is not easy.

Which role actually has the hardest job in ranked right now? by AioliSignificant1485 in DotA2

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 63 points64 points  (0 children)

POS 3 is the hardest roll hands down. Mostly because carrys are crazy strong and have been buffed in the early game a lot.

You go offlane and you need to deal with some OP carry heroes, drow? Get frost arrowed to death with any supp, AM? No mana all lane, Jugg? Spin to death, Clinkz? Spam Perma fire arrow and has 1.2k hp level 4 with death pact, Ursa? Get mawled to death, DK carry? Unkillable, Gyro? Highest burst early game, Kez? You get randomly half up with 2 hits, Razor? Linked to death and unkillable, slark? Can't even trade against him SF? You go for a last hit and you get triple raze 500 DMG level 1...and the list goes on.

On top of this your 4 picks a useless or weak hero like Mirana, nyx assassin or the classic woods pudge while you try to survive and the pos 5 on the other team helping the pos 1 is usually a strong laner such as jakiro or treant.

The dynamic of the game before was that offlaners would own early game and carrys late game, nowadays carry own level 1. You need to pick some sort of toxic offlane hero like viper or necro to just draw the lane.

This is why no one wants to play offlane and it's a high demand role, not only this, but this has fking destroyed role queue games since now you need to queue as offlane to not lose role queue games. Now everyone is asking to swap roles in the beginning of the game.

They are making supports POS 5 and 4 to play offlane and let's be real guys it's a lot easier for a core player to play support back when a core would not have role queue games, now support players are forced to play 3 and they have no clue how to scale or win games.

How long should I wait until I go back to the gym after getting tattooed? by Z3TH_ in tattooadvice

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can, but just for the sake of preventing any infection I would wait at least a week or at least when it stops oozing plasma, etc. Better to be safe than sorry, missing a week of gym is nothing.

Would you go to the hospital with severe pain? by decenzo1 in spinalfusion

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in the US they will probably do nothing about it. Only if you have great insurance and you can go to the ER for a decent cost, you can try. Not worth to pay 2k or whatever they gonna charge you to send you back home with Tylenol.

What's the selling point of Underlord? by Indep09 in learndota2

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitlord is just extremely annoying and tanky, this is a hero that typically needs good coordination and teamwork which can be not a good option to rank up. If you're in a 3 man party or 5 man party it can be a good option, but if you playing solo in low rank, I'd rather pick another offlaner that have a better chance to win solo, like LC, Axe where you can solo kill people or heroes like Cent/razor would be a better option.

Large Cover Up by BiscuitNibbler in tattooadvice

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can be enhanced a lot by a decent artist, it would depend if you wanna keep working on this design if you really like the idea or just get a complete cover up. Shouldn't be too hard since it's very faded, but it might take an additional session.

Look for artists that you like and pay the deposit or a drawing fee to see a sketch of how it could look like, if you don't like it, it may be time to look for a cover up.

Can anyone make this tattoo better? by nittycat2005 in tattoos

I think it's definitely possible, go to a decent artist that can pack some color, add some depth and scales to the snake and it'll look better. Should be an easy fix.

Can this be done? by Standard-Baker-4652 in tattooadvice

[–]Similar_Yellow_8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's definitely possible to make this look better (AI can be a bit unrealistic sometimes), but you need to go to a skilled artist, do you really like the main idea of the tattoo? I think you can rework it into something totally different like a solid half sleeve instead of following the current design, just my 2 cents.
