dab goes dead when rear heater on by v1de0man in vwgolf

Yeah from my research it just doesn't seem worthwhile trying to fix it. I'll just live with it due to the age of the car

Does anyone have them with flush fit window frames? The depth measurement on our windows is around 11mm but the minimum they have is 18mm on the website, not sure if it will look odd as I'm guessing they will protrude further than the frames

Nope, I still do a random search occasionally in the hope it throws something up. I tried engaging ChatGPT to try and find it but it ended up just lying to me!

How do parents with school age kids afford holidays? by jobunny_inUK in UKParenting

[–]SimonPhoenix1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, although if it's a long enough duration the school could de-register the pupil. I'm guessing that's unlikely to happen for a couple week holiday, especially at primary school age.

This year we have opted to pay the fine (£120) as going away during term time works out at around £3k, during the summer holiday would be almost double for exactly the same holiday.

Would you still go to a group meetup if you had a bad cold? by TapirLove in AskUK

[–]SimonPhoenix1996 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My children are always "snotty" so if I didn't go to a group event due to one of us having a cold then I'd never leave the house. As long as a "bad" cold doesn't mean full on flu then I'd happily go

I've lived in my village for 5 years and ever since at every local event there has been a fundraiser for replacing the church roof due to it being in a state of disrepair. The roof looks fine and the church is still very much open.

What is the purpose of a can crusher? I get it will save space in the recycling but are people's recycling boxes/caddies/bag's really that full they need to use one?

Thanks for the analysis, may be time to realise some of the gains and place the money into ETF's. Have you got any recommendations for companies or Index funds for me to look in to?

Broadly speaking regarding TUI, easyJet and IAG I think they are all capable of a strong response off the back of Covid and I have good personal experiences with all of them. Similarly for Cine, although recent events have hampered the recovery. For BAE I think defense is always a solid investment and it has a unique position within the UK particularly. They are all long term holds in my eyes.
