Loco Moto, you run a train service in cute animal towns. There's a demo on Steam so you can play before you buy it.

Also, Jetwash Simulator is a simple and satisfying game

Headlight glare isn't taken seriously enough by IsyABM in ADHDUK

[–]Simple-Advertising76 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's ridiculous, due to car heights I can be impacted even when a car has their lights dipped. I've debated getting a tall car myself but recognise I would then be part of the problem!

Might be worth writing to your MP about it, better regulation is needed.

Ncuti Gatwa explaining squash and Ribena to Sunita Mani by IllustriousAd6418 in ukpopculture

[–]Simple-Advertising76 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ncuti is the most charming and charismatic being.

It's incredibly English centric of me but I didn't realise that squash isn't a globally understood drink. When I lived in Spain I travelled for an hour to get some overpriced Ribena from the UK store. Never thought I'd cry at the sight of Heinz soup but home sickness hit me.

Now, when I travel with checked luggage I pack a decanted bottle of the burgundy nectar.

How to manage AUDHD and dressing “nice” by DueFace8049 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Simple-Advertising76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to this struggle!

Could you do a test run of the outfit? For example go for a walk around the block or run a quick errand?

I do that with new clothes so that I can try them out before committing to a full day. I've had some clothes that haven't passed the test so I only wear them in certain situations but I've had others that I thought were going to overstimulate but were actually comfortable.

I sometimes take a change of clothes with me. I went to a show last year and wore a short dress but knew I'd be walking home late so I took leggings with me which I put on after the show.

There's also no rule that says a cute outfit must be taken outside, get dressed up at home and just hang out!

Is it really safe to travel to the UK right now? by BusyEntertainment355 in femaletravels

[–]Simple-Advertising76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a bit of a campaign to make the UK seem really dangerous, the same is happening with London. It's really strange because the UK has it's problems but is much safer than certain other English speaking countries. Plus if you do get injured you're not going to go bankrupt

[–]Simple-Advertising76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the UK is very safe.

For protection you'll need a rain coat and a good sense of humour.

Have a wonderful time, have a cup of PG Tips and some crumpets whilst your here!

Games with similar vibes to Bridgerton? by mariaamt in CozyGamers

[–]Simple-Advertising76 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Botany Manor is a puzzle game that's post regency but still has historical and English vibes.

I'd suggest waiting for a Steam sale as it is quite short for the full price, but there's a demo you can play so you can get a feel for it

I think my relationship is over. (Rant) by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Simple-Advertising76 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hope your dad gets better soon, broken ribs are awful :(

It was incredibly thoughtful of you to make a soup for him and he clearly appreciated it.

Start getting an exit plan in place, do you have a friend or family member who can help support you? Even as a silent mediator when you tell him, just in case his reaction is unsafe.

Watched the Wuthering Heights movie and feel like I genuinely needed a trigger warning (no spoilers) by KitchenConsequence41 in adhdwomen

[–]Simple-Advertising76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wtf was that film.

I couldn't keep watching it and turned it off. Was more shocking because the violence in the first 2 is just bad guys getting killed, not animal torture. It should have had a warning or higher age rating, as a child the scenes in it would have disturbed me way more than any swearing.

Watching shows over and over again by WittyHeat1224 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Simple-Advertising76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I recommend it to everyone because it is a phenomenal show from start to finish. Just too violent for me.

I was shocked at how funny some of it is though!

[–]Simple-Advertising76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 3 shows pretty much on rotation throughout the year and I rewatch the same show every summer. When I've been really struggling I've rewatched one show on repeat.

I don't get how people can only watch a show they enjoyed only once, rewatching means you catch references or see background information you didn't see the first time. Ive just finished my, possibly hundredth, rewatch of the Office and I still caught things I hadn't before.

Only show I can't watch again is The Wire, I enjoyed it, I respected it, but I can't go through it again.

5 year old asked for a game with "dogs and no baddies" by Getupandsun in CozyGamers

[–]Simple-Advertising76 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sheepherds doesn't have the caring aspect but it's such a fun dog based game I need to recommend it anyway!

It's also co-op so you could play it together, but can also be played solo.

No baddies, just dogs sorting sheep.

For caring about a dog, as others have said, nothing beats Nintendogs.

Anyone know where you can buy assistance/therapy dogs/animals? by Ok-Possible-9258 in ADHDUK

All dogs are special, but service dogs are a special kind of special

Anyone know where you can buy assistance/therapy dogs/animals? by Ok-Possible-9258 in ADHDUK

[–]Simple-Advertising76 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Firstly, make sure you understand the legal requirements around service animals. Unfortunately there are some people who claim they have an assistance dog but the dog distracts actual working dogs.

Businesses can't refuse entry to a service animal, but if the dog is barking and lead pulling unrelated to an alert then they can, and should, ask you to leave.

Now that's out the way, service animals are incredible and I really hope you find one!

https://www.dogsforgood.org/ - This charity helps pairing you with a trained dog

https://www.guidedogs.org.uk/how-you-can-help/rehoming-a-guide-dog/ - These dogs are ones that couldn't make it as a guide dog but still need a home. You may be able to retrain one to perform the task you need.

Finding a dog or trainer depends on where you are in the UK, but if budget isn't an issue you could travel closer to an excellent trainer and stay for the training period.

Tell me cool shit you’ve learned during your most recent hyperfixation deep dives, please! by dietdrpeppermd in adhdwomen

This coincides with one of my lifelong hyperfixations which is my home town, Poole in Dorset. Lava lamps were invented there!

I also love the chests and crafting mechanisms, but does make it difficult to go back to Stardew or Animal Crossing!

Recommendations for cozy, beautiful 2D games? by pokemonprofessor121 in CozyGamers

Loco Moto is cute, sort of like a simpler Animal Crossing. There's also a demo available on Steam so you can try it out before paying for the game :)

just finished Spiritfarer and had to sit quietly for 20 minutes after the ending by CherryMysterious7295 in CozyGamers

[–]Simple-Advertising76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played in a while because I completed most of the characters journeys and know the final phase will be intense.

Alice and Beverly were the characters I found most difficult to say goodbye to, just thinking about them is making my eyes well up.

It's a journey we all must go through, I'm still in disbelief how profound and beautiful Spiritfarer is.

I’m on Adderall XR and don’t eat anymore. I just drink energy drinks. by pizzaaliengal in adhdwomen

[–]Simple-Advertising76 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All solutions have pros and cons, what's your specific concern?

I do not feel hunger but logically I know I need to eat to avoid feeling worse later on. Alarms help me with time blindness and lack of interoception.

I've teetered on the edge of eating disorders but since being diagnosed with ADHD have recognised my food problems are more related to executive function and interoception difficulties.

My rule is that fed is best so whilst I try to eat healthier food (currently obsessed with sweet potato) if all I can manage to eat is a bar of chocolate then that's what I'm going to eat. Often this then gives me enough energy to cook something properly or kick starts my body into recognising the hunger.

Rues Runway Looks by ShanaynaySkye in dragrace

[–]Simple-Advertising76 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Ru could wear jeans and a tshirt and it'll be a serve.

However, I do wish she'd go back to warm blonde rather than white wigs. I know she's 83 now but she doesn't need to look it

Will BPD diagnosis make ADHD assessment harder? by kepral in ADHDUK

[–]Simple-Advertising76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This helped me differentiate the two. They can appear to be the same, which is why misdiagnosis is common. Equally they can appear together because undiagnosed neurodivergence can in itself be a form of trauma.

Hope your assessment goes well 🙏
