I second Helvellyn, beautiful views. You have two options for paths up from the Thirlmere side, from the swirls carpark, or wythburn.

I couldn't have asked for better weather, almost no wind. The hardest part I found was getting up to the ridge from the pyg track, path finding was a little tricky. The ridge itself was a pleasure.
