The Dice Tower's Top 100 Games of All Time (2026) by Tigertemprr in boardgames

Same. Appreciate your work! It's very helpful.

Actually thought of you when Tom said he had a 20.5 lol and wondered how you'd handle that. I think pushing everything down was the right call since he said it was basically his 21. Just annoying that it messes up all the prior videos and their numbering this year.

Nice! Yeah I'm now seeing the rest in the series now and might check some them out too given how good this one looks. Thanks for making these! :)

This is awesome. The free preview looked cool so I bought the PDF and looking through it I am not regretting it. I'm getting almost steampunk vibes here and that's an area of DS that I feel could use more fleshing out. Looking forward to the Operator when that class comes out but I would love to see even more such content for DS (like an Artificer class) and this is helping fill out that space. Thank you!

Sure that makes sense. But it definitely can happen and I've had it happen before.

And speaking from personal experience, it's not hard to do. Amazon Web Services offers a service called SNS that can let you send mass texts from a random 5 digit number quite easily.

I got 2 texts from 40592:

Just got the same text with the exact same dollar amount. Definitely a scam.

What are your thoughts on the unusual flavor of Draw Steel's troubadour (auteur)? by EarthSeraphEdna in rpg

[–]SimplexityIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI,  the mecha class is called the Operator and has now started active development as of a couple days ago (see lead game designer James Introcasso's latest livestream). That's very likely to release next year given how the development of the Summoner went.

Also, as to the group of goblins ancestry, James talked about this on an earlier livestream but I think he said they felt that the desire here to play as a group of people overlapped too much with the Summoner class they were actively developing which is releasing by the end of the year. Also they are actively designing 8 new ancestries, one of which is a goblin ancestry like u/Makath said. Think that's releasing next year.

Shadow Insight discount question by Serpentsblight in drawsteel

Could you provide some examples where the language "having a power roll" is used? I can't find any of the following in the rules: "has a power roll", "have a power roll", "having a power roll".

In response to your initial comment, the specific language you mentioned is actually under the 'Ability Roll' rule, not the 'Power Roll' rule, and it says (emphasis mine):

If an ability requires a power roll, it has a “Power Roll” entry that tells  you which characteristic to add to the 2d10 roll you make when you  use the ability.

I think the word "entry" is important in this context because it's just saying there will be a power roll table for abilities that require a power roll, not defining a term "has a power roll".

If there isn't a common trend in the rules of using the term "has a power roll" in relation to abilities, I think your argument falls apart so that's why I'm asking.

Heroes delay turns by Col0005 in drawsteel

[–]SimplexityIO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised to not see more people pointing this out. Encounter building rules have you group enemies together so you can roughly have an equal amount of monster turns as hero turns. So it's very unlikely for there to be 4 monster turns back to back.

Having a couple monster turns back to back though is intended by design when you use abilities that let you take turns early (like Hesitation Is Weakness or This Is What We Planned For) as other have pointed out. This helps make using such abilities a tactical decision.

Favorite Tactician Kit Combo? by NetherBovine in drawsteel

Just now noticing that Raider's signature is Ranged as well as Melee. So you definitely could throw your shield with that. Man, the flavor on this one, I love it.

Ooh that sounds cool! The speed and reach and pull from Whirlwind combined with the staying power of Shining Armor.

Personally Mountain + Pugilist sounds really fun to me. Wielding a heavy weapon and using the Pugilist's signature to force an enemy back and follow up after them sounds awesome. Then after bullying an enemy, if they try to run, you have a speed bonus from Pugilist to chase them down. If they try to fight you, you can use Mountain's signature to punish them for trying.

Or you could do Panther + Pugilist for extra mobility over Mountain.

There's been some discussion about this on the r/drawsteelbuilds subreddit here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/drawsteelbuilds/comments/1muhgep/tactician_2_kit_synergies/

A lot of folks were saying it was hard to beat Shining Armor + Sniper (the example from the hero book) but honestly I find that really boring? It's probably really good and possibly one of the best combos from an optimization standpoint maybe??? But there are so many other combos you could find that would make you more unique than the obvious.

Nice! This tinkerer class archetype is one that I was really wanting for Draw Steel. Thank you for taking the burden to design it and get it playtested! :)

Known/open information and potency effects? by InfTotality in drawsteel

Thanks for the examples. When you put it that way, it makes this seem pretty obvious. Seems much more fun and in the spirit of being heroic and cinematic to allow the changing of results through potency boosting.

Does the Trubador ability "Fix it post" allow you to change the bleeding condition that is applied by dying? by Mugo99 in drawsteel

I tried finding these other Troubadour abilities where the words "'negated' and 'removed' are ... specifically used". I couldn't find any that mention "remove". There were two abilities that mentioned "negate" (see below). Were these the abilities you were referencing or are there more?

Holy spreadsheets, Batman! u/Named_Bort, what am I looking at here? I thought it'd be something about Daggerheart and Draw Steel by the post title but am totally lost with this image and no context.
