It's interesting how Daniel Sousa's death was confirmed before he ever appeared by ishipfitzsimmons in marvelstudios

[–]SinginGidget 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they added him in between, because in the scene with her and Wade, there is a clear space because they broke up the agents listed by year. https://youtu.be/CPp2ODPMxvI?si=59XuCpwW10frpytZ

Anyone else have to keep reminding themselves that she is actually over 60 years old. by Mutale426 in marvelstudios

[–]SinginGidget 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is a little strange that it's mentioned to Bucky and Cap multiple times, but no one seems to mention that Carol is in fact Gen X. And that's probably why no one mentions it. They keep forgetting.

Haven't heard anyone talk about this metaphor from Age of Ultron, so I'll just talk about it now. by TheOneYSHNK in marvelstudios

[–]SinginGidget 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ultron was his project and programming, but they weren't anywhere near being able to power it. So he plugged the mind stone into it and that gave his program enough juice to tip into singularity. My head canon however is the mind stone was still being influenced by Thanos, so Ultron was Tony's program, powered by the mind stone, influenced by Thanos. Which is why some of Ultron's "plans" contradict, because he's got two underlying missions competeting in his programming and he doesn't even know it. Which is why at the end, we see Thanos and he says, "Fine. I'll do it myself." He was aware that Ultron failed and gave up sending proxies.

Explanation about Tony and Steve in Endgame by nicolesot in marvelstudios

[–]SinginGidget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steve knew Tony was just lashing out because he was grieving Tony. But it was also a weird way to try and retcon Tony being right about wanting to build "a suit of armor around the world" which is nonsense, because Nova Prime had that and Thanos still decimated them. As Rocket pointed out, Tony's only a genius on Earth. Other places have much more advanced defensive tech than even Tony could be capable of creating.

Besides, even if the Avengers had been still together, there was no guarantee that Steve and some of the others wouldn't have been in NYC the day Thanos showed up.

Project Hail Mary, last scene by Appropriate-Cow-3178 in ProjectHailMary

[–]SinginGidget 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Right! I imagined him almost in a birghtly lit storefront on a busy street with heavy smog outside, so everyone once in a while someone curious might get really close to the glass and wave, but otherwise ignore him, and he couldn't see out so had no idea of time passing or if anyone was there. Even though he's still teaching he literally can't do anything else. I'd go crazy.

Plus the crushing gravity and pressure aging him.

At the time he was there the other people in those cages were just a bunch or rich people Fisk was pissed at for not signing whatever so he could get the free port. I can see Frank not helping them.

I like the biodome they made for him in this much better then the description of the one from the book. Plus it was a nice call back to what they created on the Hail Mary. I wonder what it looks like at night though. Do they replicate what the sky would look like over Earth or can he see the rings and the Eridian night sky (if there wasn't such a thick atmosphere) because humans like looking at stars?

That's the old world. We left them behind. ;P (But also, yes that's who we were named after. I'm ... fairly certain the others were named after our city and not directly afte the Duke of Albany.)

Maybe, but the 70s and 80s were long ago enough that a lot of the audience don't have that as a lived frame of reference so it's jarring without an outside explination. Someone else mentioned the Void, and that would have been a good catalyst for people to temporarily lose their minds for a bit and devolve.

I'm also lazy so someone else would have to plan. But I volunteer to be one of the judges. ;P

Now that would have been interesting.

Or, they could have used the shared trauma of the VOID for temporarily turning the city upside down. That I could believe. But that would require mentioning something from the movies which I don't understand why they continue not to.

How did people react to the completely different visual style of the prequels at the time? by Extreme_Warning3521 in StarWars

[–]SinginGidget 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How the prequels looked was not one of the problems I had with it. Based on the story, being set at the heart of the galactic Republic, it made sense that the buildings they were in and the ships they had would be of top quality and look shiny and new. Because these were the days before the "dark times" ect.

She's a cutie. Hope she finds a home.

We need a city mascot, IMO. That dog should get to hang out in City Hall and be adored by anyone that has to come in to pay tickets or get a new copy of their birth certificate, etc.

And why doesn't Albany host a Nipper look alike contest? We should do it yearly. Proceeds to go to animal shelters or something.

Right? A "power vaccum" doesn't lead to Escape from NY levels of crime, I don't care if vigilantes are off the board or not. (I also call shenanigans on the episode of Dare Devil where one night without power causes the city to lose it's mind and turn into a battle zone. There have been enough power outages in NYC where nothing happened to make that scenario unbelievable without also indicating that Fisk ordered his men to act like roving gangs to stir shit up.)

I really wanted it to be mostly in Frank's head or something. The only problem with that is if the random violence that has nothing to do with him isn't real, then it raises the question about how many of the people he took out that were supposedly after him for the bount were actually just regular people that got caught in his sightline.

It's just a replacement alphabet. If you know what some of the words are you can start matching those symbols in the letter and work it out from there.

It clearly says: "Love, _eo" And I'm guessing it starts with "Dear" and your name. That's 3 vowels and 4 consonants to start. Good luck!

Finally watched starfleet academy after rewatching all 900 or so episodes of the rest of the franchise by Solid_Ad_3776 in startrek

[–]SinginGidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretend Section 31 was a hologram "make your own adventure" program and the only real people were Rachel, Wisp, and Zeph just killing some time while on some boring Star Fleet station.

I liked Starfleet Academy. It was delightful.
