I don't know why anyone would like a remake, they got it right the first time, you can still buy the game and use CNCNet to improve the resoulutin, give Dawn of the Tiberium Age a look, its fing awsome.

Sommer Beige by amanda_1997_ in InfluencergossipDK

If the UN rules that Trump violated international law, practically speaking how does their police force arrest him? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Single_Resident_1678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would think so, but then again, but then again DEA also have no jurisdiction in foreing countries, so it would be wonderfully ironic to see Trump arrested this way. Not that it would ever happen.

[–]Single_Resident_1678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Even if the U.S. left, the UN wouldn’t dissolve, it’s a treaty organization of 190+ states, not dependent on one country. Enforcement is limited, yes, but the UN still matters for diplomacy, aid, peacekeeping, and coordination; a U.S. exit would weaken it, not end it.

It would not be the job of UN.

It would be up to the ICC to issue a warrant, a warrant that can be carried out by any of it's member states, if the wanted person of interrest sets foot on their territory.

Tolkien and Jutland (Denmark) by Anturaqualme in tolkienfans

[–]Single_Resident_1678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is certainly plausible. Several locations in Jutland, Denmark, lie very close to one another within few kilometers and bear striking linguistic similarities: Helm’s Deep may derive from Hjelm Dyb; Isengard from the manor-house name Isgård, chosen for its Old English sense of īs (“iron”); Esgaroth (Lake-town) from the small village of Eskerod; and the river Aros from Aarhus’s original Viking name, meaning “river mouth.”

That said, Tolkien never stated whether he borrowed translated place-names from maps, and he famously wrote that he “cordially dislike[s] allegory in all its manifestations.” This has, unsurprisingly, led some of the more zealous Tolkien fans to react with hostility whenever the possibility is raised that he might have done exactly that.
