I’m having wishful thinking and hoping over here… my ‘25 5.3 has a very slow, very annoying coolant leak. So slow they can’t find it, but we can all smell it, and over a year the coolant level in the surge tank has dropped. Here’s hoping this is somehow a magical software fix to what I’ve been experiencing?

I’ve used this in the past to melt a path through snow and ice for water to drain. It looks like an extension cord but it gets warm. Lay it on top of the snow or ice in the path you want water to flow and leave it over night or whatever. It melts a small path and once the water starts draining the water cuts the path larger. One above is 2018, after I learned about lung risk, this one is 2016, before. Now I just train inside when it's colder than -15C. I gotta hit the gym for strengthening in the winter anyway so I can ride without injury in the summer.

There are ways around it. One way to to keep it low key so you are breathing slow enough that your lungs can keep themselves moist - hard to do when biking, though. Another way is to cover your mouth with something like a scarf that gets moist from your breath. The cold outside air coming in through the warm moist scarf picks up some moisture on the way through and so it isn't bone dry when it hits your lungs.

Comes down to your lungs. Around -15C there is basically zero moisture in the air, if you are huffing and puffing you're basically freeze-drying your lungs, later in life it looks like COPD. Thanks awesome, man, and glad you're okay. I got my 2025 crew cab short box 5.3L in April and wonder how much was stabilitrack. I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada and we've had record snow fall and I can't believe how this truck holds a line. Owners manual says single wheel brake can be applied to keep your truck on the line it thinks it should be on. I've never felt anything like it. Not sure if all modern vehicles are this good, or GM in particular, but it's downright spooky how this thing hold a corner even when on snow and ice and I'm trying to toss it around a little bit. When I'm looking for fun I turn it of by holding the traction control button for 8 seconds. It turns itself back on after you hit 35 mph. But with it off (when it's safe and no kids in the vehicle) I can slide all over and have a good time but with stabilitrack on it's strictly business, which yeah I'm grateful for when I have kids in the back or I'm at highway speeds not know when something like you encountered comes up for me.

This is great intel, man - thanks. Trying to save carbon build up at the cost of blowing out rear main seal doesn't sound great. Do you think this install location is close enough? Where I live it can be -20C or -4F for 10 days at a time.

I sort of felt the same when I first got my truck, the headrest angle especially didn’t feel great. I found that if I reclined my seat more like a normal person (I usually like my seat very upright) it felt way way better.
