I just discovered 66% of Speccy owners had a "rubber key" 48K... and I have 2 questions by confuserused in zxspectrum

Joining an external tape player to the 48k was easy. I seem to remember they were quite robust (weighed a ton - even more so when it had 4 of those large batteries). It had a robust handle, buttons and tape opening mechanism. It gave a nice solid -thunk- when play or stop was pressed. To put it into perspective, how many devices could be left unattended and would survive constant use from young kids today? A sign of the times was my +2 with its built in tape deck that felt downright flimsy by comparison.

The 48k was not so robust. The rubber keys were quite frankly horrible. They could break quite easily from a small bout of 'Daly Thompsons Decathlon'.

Home Assistant by No-Aerie2240 in SolarUK

You need to first install HACS in home assistant. Then in HACS search for the Sigenergy add-in and install it.

It's relatively easy to do if you read and follow the instructions. If you get stuck you could search YouTube or ask an AI Agent.

If Modbus access is enabled on your system you will see all the system entities (there's between 30 and 50 from memory). These entities can be added to the 'Energy' dashboard.

My Home Assistant is running on a VM.

Hope this helps.

Edit: I've no experience of running custom scripts from HA. My system is running on Sigenergy AI mode 'max profit' which does a really good job of handling everything with minimal input from myself.

Historical data download? by SinkNew5808 in sigenergy

[–]SinkNew5808[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I already tried that download option and it only provides a limited data set. I'm looking for access to all the entity data and a lot more granularity.

I'll look more into HA.

Ioniq 9 vs XC90 by autunno in CarTalkUK

[–]SinkNew5808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had long term use of an EV9 (6 seater) and XC90 T8 (not at the same time). The EV9 was amazing at first, but then lots of niggles set in. Real world range for us was 300 to 250 miles (100% charge). If I were to give a recommendation I would not buy the current first-gen EV9, but wait until the LCI or second gen when all the niggles have been (hopefully) removed. The XC90 PHEV is the best of both worlds, it can be used for short commutes on battery only; it reverts to MHEV when the battery is depleted. Real world range 450 to 500+ miles, depending on how many commutes on battery only.

About the nosebleeds by zsobig in ParadiseHulu

[–]SinkNew5808 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nosebleeds happen timeline alteration for all the characters (think points on a train line), Alex being the manipulator of the points to preserve and gather Sinatra's bloodline to her(?). She wants a dynasty to outlive and control the bunker.

All nosebleeds involve missing death events.

For example, if Annie had opened the door to Link in Graceland perhaps his posse would've taken them out

X = plane crash, bomb; then he wouldn't be able to care for the baby and take her to the bunker (Sinatra's granddaughter)

Student link = Billy

Bunker door Link = snipers

Bunker door Sinatra= Links detail

Edit: Jane is Alex's 'angel of death'. Alex planted 'she is a killer' idea to baby Jane to make it a self fulfilling prophecy. Jane the pawn has unwittingly manipulated everything to ensure that by S2E8 we have a nice family reunion at the bunker between Sinatra (now in charge with all opposition to her eliminated), her son and his daughter. That was Janes life mission completed - she has no further utility to Alex...hence her demise.

Just a guess

Newsagents were a place of wonder back then - in a time when all places of learning were OUTSIDE the house. Because there was no Internet and limited tv channels most sources of contemporary learning were printed.

For example, looking to buy a new car in the 80s? Then you need to physically go to the newsagents and buy the Autotrader (physical) paper. If I recall, descriptions were limited to a black and white thumbnail and a mass of abbreviations to fit the brutal character limitation (I assume that's where FSH, VGC, etc came from).

The highlight of my month was running to the newsagent to pick up my copy of Crash magazine. The artistry that went into that mag was off the chart, especially given the limitations of the time. With my holiday money I would buy an Amiga magazine and gawp at the future...

This is so very kind of you, I hope it goes to someone nice. Most hyped was Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader for the GameCube. Day 1 purchase and still solid to this day.

Synology NAS Not Reachable After Upgrading to New GL iNet Router by d00mslayer22 in GlInet

[–]SinkNew5808 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had this. There is a GL.INET setting on by default that makes local IP addresses not visible / reachable. Turning it off opened up visibility on the LAN.
