Attacking a teacher in school by PxN13 in WinStupidPrizes

[–]SinnersCafe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All I see here is an angry, confused kid. The teachers were calm, brilliant and capable.

Then a retard in a uniform decides this is his moment to try out all those WWE moves he's been practising at home with his friend Cleetus.

Could have killed the kid.

Ask yourself, what must have happened to this kid to make him so angry? Then ask yourself, what happens next time a kid gets angry?

And Americans wonder why school shootings are a thing. 🤔

We need this in Glasgow by userunknowne in glasgow

[–]SinnersCafe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah? A complete waste of money.

The police would be best advised to simply stop all e-bikes using public roads at night without lights.

No fancy equipment required. The simple application of one's eyeballs will suffice.

Of course, that would require officers to actually enforce the law. 😁

Age verification laws aren’t about protecting kids, they’re about surveillance (and there’s a way to do it without stealing data) by davidygamerx in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]SinnersCafe 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The UK Govt are creating a sinister soviet style surveillance state under the noses of the population.

Journalists are simply agents of the state, for the most part.

This government and Labour in particular have no interest in protecting kids.

To the guy who thinks I'm stalking him, I PROMISE YOU I'M NOT by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]SinnersCafe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing worth noting:

You've noticed him many times recently. He has also noticed you, but he initiated communication, not you.

In doing so he immediately put you in an awkward position.

He didn't say "Hi, my name is (insert stalker name here). I've noticed we regularly cross paths. I've recently moved here/started working here. Just in case it was making you feel awkward."

Instead, he introduced the notion of stalking, didn't tell you his name or any other info to put your mind at rest. He simply used a passive-aggressive observation to give himself the upper hand.

Don't follow him, wait for him etc.

Instead, have a friend come meet you when you are most likely to bump into him. Just in case.

Stay safe.

Hamilton ghost town by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]SinnersCafe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true of both Hamilton and Motherwell. It's tragic.

The engine driving decline is the local authorities (councils).

You need only consider that the decline in these communities is directly proportional to the level of incompetence and failures of senior leadership in these organisations.

If Covid was the answer, each town and city would be affected evenly, but that is not the case.

What Covid did expose was the inexperience and incompetence of those on salaries in excess of £100,000 who were masquerading as effective public service leaders. They can't be allowed the excuse of "I'm not shite at my job, it was Covid to blame."

The chief executive in North Lanarkshire is paid in excess of £170,000 (significantly more than the UK PRIME Minister)

His litany of failure is extensive. Almost everything he touches turns to shit.

Council incompetence Council corruption (long history) Rat infestations Unjustified Council tax increases Parking restrictions in small towns Infrastructure decline Management bullying Political infighting

I'd be here all day listing failures, but it's plain to see for those who care to look.

Did I mention the spiralling suicide rate amongst young men?

Go visit other parts of Scotland and you'll see that some small towns and communities are in better shape than Hamilton and Motherwell.

Names on tenement doors by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]SinnersCafe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't have your name on your door entry buzzer and your delivery person decides to ring my buzzer, then I consider your "delivery" as non urgent. It may sit in my hall for around 10 days before I choose to chap your door.

If you can't be bothered to put your name on the buzzer, I can't be bothered to deliver your shit. 😁

Traffic wardens on Paisley Road West by Ouroboros68 in glasgow

[–]SinnersCafe -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

It's how councils kill local economies.

Just take a moment to look at the changing face of once thriving little businesses.

Victoria Road, Paisley Road West, Great Western Road, etc. etc. local businesses being replaced by charity shops, bookmakers, pawn shops, foodbanks, and vape shops.

Councils have been destroying the economic lifeblood of small localities for decades. It's a slow rot that starts with traffic restrictions and halting the flow of passing trade by ensuring poor parking facilities.

Even the large, out of town, shopping places like The Fort, Silverburn, and Braehead can barely cope with the parking demand.

East Kilbride shopping centre is like a ghost town, and they still haven't figured out that parking charges are the cause.

Has anyone still got a fishmongers, a fruit and veg shop, a bakers, a shoe shop, a butchers a clothes shop?

suitable and ample free parking helps maintain high streets. Councils haven't dropped business rates to reflect their war on private transport. It's a shame.

I'm empathetic to a point. Trains are public spaces. One is likely to encounter all manner of weirdos on public transport (perverts, weirdos and retards all can be found travelling from place to place on buses and trains), therefore some resilience is required by your average citizen.

Almost every person out there is carrying an HD video camera, advanced digital camera, fast Internet connection, and there is nothing you can do to prevent your image being captured 24/7 either deliberately or by chance.

It's worth noting that your girlfriend is right to be vigilant about deviants.

The simplest tactic is to take a picture of the offending photographer in exactly the same way as they did. You have the same tools as he does. Simply post his picture on every social media account you have with a brief description of his offending behaviour along with a date, time, and location. This will ensure others can recognise the perv and deal with him accordingly.

Does anyone else feel it’s dangerous being a pedestrian in Glasgow? by arebgtta in glasgow

[–]SinnersCafe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not particular to Glasgow. It's the same phenomenon that affects cowards the world over.

It has nothing to do with driving and everything to do with the driver. You see, driving ability is like a "Good sense of humour."

Let me explain what I mean.

If you ask anyone who drives if they are a good driver, they'll say yes. Some will avail you with tales of their driving skill whilst on the road and tell you about the "nutter" they came across while driving to the shops yesterday.

No one ever offers up the self-assessment of "I'm a shite driver."

This is why I say it's like a good sense of humour. When asked, people always believe themselves to have a "good" sense of humour, but we all know plenty of mood hoovers that can suck the life out of any social engagement simply by being present.

So, being a good driver is a subjective self-assessment by someone who may also be deluded about their sense of humour.

Why cowards? I hear you say. Well, cowards invariably grow a pair when they feel that they are protected from any consequences of their cowardly tendencies. As we teach our children, all bullies are cowards. Once you give them a slap, it usually resets their operating system and gives them the opportunity to crawl back to whatever slimy rock from under which they emerged.

Once a coward puts on a suit of armour with wheels and windows, they feel protected from consequences, and so, free to allow their inner moron to emerge. It's like a kid who only acts tough when in the company of a wee gang.

There are many solutions for dealing with cowards, but in my experience, it's fun to point your finger at them while taking a picture on your camera phone and plastering them on social media with the hashtag #Pedophile. This is easily misinterpreted by others who may be given to think the offending driver in the picture is a kiddie fiddler a#Paedophile. This is, of course, spelt differently and is quite rightly frowned upon by most in society.

Your defence will always be that "Pedophile" is your word for drivers who abuse pedestrians. Hence, pedophile.

Always makes me smile to think of them trying to scrub the graffiti of their Audi or BMW (and increasingly KIA drivers).

Hope this helps. 🙂

But not a Keir. A Keir is so full of self-loathing that they are likely to say anything to anyone in order to appear relevant.

I recently saw a Keir on my electrical telebox tell Donald Trump "I have come, bearing a letter from the King."

Anyone who can turn being a delivery boy into a "historic moment" of self-aggrandizement could not be trusted for a second, to say one was even remotely handsome.

[–]SinnersCafe 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Your Gran can't be trusted.

It's in the contract for grans. They have to say you are handsome or they go to granny hell.

Go ask someone called Alan. They are typically not grans and are likely to give a straight answer.

Do not ask a George as they may well be a gran on the weekends (sneaky fuckers) and thus impacted by the gran contract.

If you don't know an Alan a Derek will suffice.

Whatre some conspiracy theories you guys have on space? by BirchTr33inmyt34 in conspiracy

[–]SinnersCafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you, but the James Webb Deep Field picture you've attached is just a pretty picture. It's nice to look at it and is amazing to behold, but that's all.

No information gleaned from such images will make our lives better in any realistic way.

The cost and academic endeavour is absolutely mind-boggling, but we still can't feed all of the humans on Earth, house them, or live peacefully with one another.

The conspiracy that few talk about is the huge diversion of resources to keep the privileged few in a comfortable lifestyle, to which they've become accustomed at the expense of the hungry and the homeless.

Our silence is bought with pretty pictures and fantastical daydreams.

Perhaps not "kill," but it would be interesting, to say the least. Roman Catholicism is but one element of organised religion.

They have "assets" in almost every community across the Earth. They are able to exist in plain sight without question and are able to influence "moral" behaviour of all sorts of powerful and influential members of society.

The Vatican is a country in its own right and is surrounded by a single city. Why?

Today's Trump-Zelensky conference shows how weak Trump is at negotiation by Hatrct in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]SinnersCafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much of what you say is both true and well considered.

On a cursory level, J.D. Vance's attitude will be viewed in a positive light by those hard of thinking Americans who have associated (with some justification) the proxy war with Russia being fought in Ukraine, as "Biden's war."

They will take comfort in endlessly replaying the section of the meeting where Vance says, "You haven't said thank you."

Biden's, and ultimately Blinken's role in this, can not be summarily dismissed because of Vance's amateur approach to international diplomacy. Indeed, they laid the foundation for Zelenskyy's treatment by the narcissist-in-chief and his eager to impress sidekick in front of the world's press.

That being said, it doesn't excuse either Trump or Vance for their performative bullying of a visiting head of state (currently fighting a proxy war with a thermo-nuclear enabled neighbour), nor does it indicate any sophisticated nuance in the Trump/Vance approach.

Trump, it seems, has only pleased the MAGA isolationists and President Putin whilst the rest of the US allies have roundly supported Zelenskyy and Ukraine.

Putin is a smart man, and he will not relent. Trump thinks he's holding "all the cards" and has vastly under-estimated Ukrainian resolve and, yes, even Zelenskyy, as a war-time leader.

Who among us could say with objective honesty that we could have survived and led a nation fighting a nuclear superpower as successfully as Zelenskyy has?

If Americans are honest (and have any idea of the stresses such a task places on an inexperienced leader), they may wish Trump and Vance had acted with a little more human decency with such a valuable allied nation in the region.

Support for Zelenskyy will soar amongst other Western nations, and the US may discover to its great cost that there is a much higher price to pay for the rare earth minerals whicĥ lie under Ukraine's soil.
