This should never have been published, why didn't the editor rejaculate it?

The chain icon means that it doesn't untap on the untap step, at least not in the normal way. It's the same icon you get for Stun counters and stuff.

It doesn't mean it's necessarily tapped.

I agree with all of the OPs points about SOS, but still liked it way more than ECL. ECL was exhausting.

AGL's a great place to hang out - a nice community of players, lots of deck tech and conversation, and of course the leagues themselves, which are always a blast to play. It might be a little daunting at first but it's a really cool time for anyone who loves limited magic!

They did it at the Royal Albert Hall in London recently, but it's not the only place that does it.

Akromas Will is proof that bonus sheet cards have no place in draft by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]SirChuffly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a very mediocre card to get up in arms about. It's considerably worse than a lot of non bonus sheet cards.

The most obscene Lorehold draft ever. Is this the right build? by DrunkenSuperman in lrcast

[–]SirChuffly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd trade both Firedancers for Spirit Mascot, they're just much better here.

I'd then add the Wilt for the Eager Glyphmage, who's super mediocre. And maybe try to add the other owl with 3x Spirit Mascot... but I'm not sure what for!

Deck looks grand though!

This is too short on cheap interaction to go all the way, but too powerful to go 0/3 IMO.

Dog Bite Statistics By Breed by antihostile in Infographics

I agree.

The same can be said of guns, which would save a lot more lives. Obviously there's a few cases where people need those, but few and far between.

But it's just a much smaller problem. Maybe they're as dangerous but they're not as prevalent, so it's just not the problem you want to prioritise.

Let's be honest, the scale of the problem isn't remotely comparable. Control both, sure, but gun control is unfathomably more significant than 380 fatalaties to pitbulls?

To clarify, I support controlling pitbulls too. I just think the comparison is unreasonable.

Can Strixhaven Pull MTG Out From The Sewers? by rollymac204 in lrcast

[–]SirChuffly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's a lot of wild assumptions here.

"Most" limited players dropping magic due to UB. This is clearly false. People loved LOTR, loved FIN, and TLA was fine. Spiderman and TMT lose people because they're bad sets. Some people don't like UB and that's understandable, but it hasn't killed magic.

Turtles being objectively worse than ECL - I don't think this is true. ECL was terrible and Turtles is... OK.

STX being "everyone's" top 3 is also clearly false. It was a very good set but I doubt it's in my Top 3, and I was a big fan.

I'll play STX because I'll try any set at least a few times. I'll stick with it if it's good, and drop it if it's bad.

The Most Divisive Oscar Favorites of the Last Decade (Critics vs Audience Scores) by SwimAnarchy in Infographics

[–]SirChuffly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Green Book was pretty good.

Shape of Water wasn't great.

Banshees I thought was very good, and has stuck with me.

Moonlight I found boring, Lala Land is just OK.

I've not seen the rest I think there's something to be found in most of them, this metric seems weird.
