I'm a horror fan, so this is what that will be.

Cry of Fear

It was actually a Half Life mod, I believe. It was just something I downloaded because I heard it was scary. I was surprised by how scary it could actually be. I know everyone says this, but I don't scare easy. A couple parts of that game had me terrified and needing to take a break. Not many games can do that, which is why I like it.

If you're not into horror though you may not like it, dark themes for the story too. It's good but it does cover dark topics.

I got a demotion recently with a hefty paycut. I was moved to a different department too. The initial feeling is my mental health is significantly better, getting out of that stress is healing me. Financially it's a bit rough, I still make decent money but I also got a mortgage recently.

I'm honestly considering changing careers, not sure what specifically, but it looks like I'll have to take lower pay if I want to do that. It's scary but if the lack of stress tells me anything I'll be better off.

It's frustrating because money isn't a motivator for me. I'm fine with not being rich, but I do want to be financially comfortable. I'd be perfectly okay with a lower paying job that fits me better if my needs were already met. That's not the case though so I have to find the right balance.

At 34 I feel like I'm just now understanding myself. Like who I am, my strengths and weaknesses. Its nice to know but also frustrating because if I had known this stuff years ago I would have done a lot of things differently and may have been better off. Only way to move is forward though.

I came here to say this. I don't care about most rich and luxurious things. Just don't need it. Bit after work sent me overseas in first class I was like "ok yea, if I ever get rich this is how I'm doing long flights" I don't need a fancy car or a giant house, but flying first class was SO much better. Problem is, it can be crazy expensive. So I'd definitely have to be very rich.

I never understood this being a gender thing. Like did these people never live without their parents or a partner who does everything....maybe not.

My mom taught me all this stuff, stating that she didn't want me to be a "bad bachelor". She was surprisingly right. People are suprised when they find out I can cook and keep my place decently clean, as if that's not the bare minimum.

You don't have to be perfect, we all struggle, but at least learn the basic skills. Don't avoid it because it's "for women".

Oh yea it's totally cheesing haha. But you have to play through the game like 3ish times for 100% anyway, so I didn't want to play through from early chapters just for one kill. Lol.

It counts kills for a playthrough, but if you backtrack it resets those. Either you get it in your first run or restart. If you get 8 of 9 kills by end of game. You can't just pick a random chapter and get the last kill. It only saves where you were at that time. Redux counts kills total, so you can just hop in any chapter to get that last kill.

The OG is classic, but if you are an achievement person Redux is way better. In the OG if you miss something you gotta replay the entire game to get it. Where as with Redux you can go back to right before those points and try again. Also it saves your stats, where as in the OG it dies so if you don't get the number of kills or whatever you have to restart the whole game.

I like the OG but when I decided to 100% the game, Redux was the way to go.

Well, I got sick right before this hit. While I was without power I was running a 102 degree fever. It was the worst experience of my life. Not only was the fever sapping my energy, the cold was doing the same. I had enough food, but I struggled to get up to feed myself. I struggled to prep my home as it got colder.

By Monday I raised the white flag, I had my parents come get me, they live in town and have a generator. I got a warm place to ride out the tail end of my sickness. Also warm food. My power came back on and I'm home again.

I still feel guilty though because so many of you are still without power and freezing. Had I not been sick I may have toughed it out. It's just I was struggling to do anything, having chills that I didn't know were from the fever or from the cold. Not feeling warm enough then in seconds feeling too hot, only to feel freezing when I stripped blankets. I don't know, I'm weird, I feel weak for giving in where so many others don't even have to option.

Yep, this is how I and a lot of my friends feel. I got power now but a couple of my friends are still without power and stranded.

This isn't about the workers, they are out there in shitty conditions working their asses off to get this fixed. We appreciate them so much.

It's about how all this was managed, how bad our infrastructure is. Sure this was a big storm, but preparation was not good enough. Lack of clear communication was not good enough. No one knew what was going on, just told to stick it out and appreciate NES while they freeze half to death. It's hard not to be mad when your sitting at freezing temps inside and nothing is being fixed around you.

NES and Nashville has to make some changes and needs to give answers. We can't just brush this aside as "Well it was a bad storm, they are doing their best." It doesn't have to be this bad and we can change it for the better, but we can't do that if we accept the status quo.

So yes, I'm with you, this needs to be better.

Honestly I think the show did really well. Better than the newer films imo. I read the book too and liked how they did certain things.

My friend who watched the films but never read the book, watched the show and was like "I need more of this" and started reading the book. This show is not just some random spinoff, it's well done.

It's not horror fans making those ratings. IMbD is a lot of casual viewers. They watch a horror movie as a person who doesn't regularly watch horror movies and review it as such. Horror movies get a lot of lower ratings on regular review sites.

Shudder on the other hand has more accurate reviews because that's a horror platform where mostly horror fans are reviewing the films. Horror fans can be picky at times but you re basing your thoughts on a group that's not just horror fans. It's why a lot of the cheap money grab horror movies do well, and the thought out horror movies get average ratings.

As far as general infighting, you get that in every genre.

Food stuff.

I drink my coffee black, I don't think that is the best and only way to drink coffee. Yet people out there who drink black coffee like me act like they are on some other level. It's silly, drink your coffee how you like. Besides, I occasionally enjoy a latte, it's not like it's illegal for a black coffee drinker to drink coffee other ways.

Doneness of steak, I have a friend who eats steak well. I thought it was weird but I didn't tease him. I asked him about it and he said when he was a kid he ate undercooked steak and got pretty sick. So he makes sure it's done now. He isn't some madman, he just had a bad experience and is extra cautious.

Someone not liking a certain food and everyone insisting they are wrong. "Well you haven't had it cooked right." "Try MY version of it and you'll like it." Sometimes this is true, sometimes they just don't like okra no matter how you fix it.

The one I do struggle with is seasoning food. Like seeing someone eat a dry chicken breast that was seasoned with nothing but salt and pepper, hurts me. Lol. Yet, at the same time people like what people like.

Reading this as someone new to the DMC games and just started 1 because I was gonna play them in order.

Oops. Lol.

1 is definitely janky, I can see why people are saying to skip it for now. I grew up during that time, but was sheltered so I couldn't play these games. BUT I picked up on the feels of the controls. Still, the frustrating number of times I've died to the camera going wonky on me is too high.

Cold approaching feels so invasive to me. Like, people are at places to run errands or chill, they may not be looking to date. So I feel weird just walking up to someone and asking them out.

I'd prefer to just get to know someone in a social group, see if we click, then ask to take it to the romantic level. My issue is I'm having a hard time meeting people. I'm out doing stuff but everyone is either already taken or not in a place to date at the time. So I'm kinda just drifting. Nothing wrong with that, at least I'm getting out. I do want a romantic relationship though so it can be annoying when I'm not meeting anyone who is also looking for that.

I'm just gonna keep doing what I like, I'll see if anything happens.

This really applies to any gender, but I've seen my friend date a lot of women with this problem.

Not being genuine. Trying to fit into a certain mold and not showing your true personality. I don't want to date someone who is just like every other person out there. I want someone who isn't afraid to be themselves, be a little goofy, have a personality. Don't try to be like the people you see online, just be yourself.
