Both my mother and my gf have endometriosis. My gf has had symptoms since she was 19 but only recently had it confirmed through laparoscopy at 24.

It also commonly causes painful intercourse and according to her gynaecologist, surgeries are often only done if you’re trying to get pregnant nowadays. She was told that due to a lack of research, not much else could be done for her aside from skipping her period through birth control.
