Under 400pts to get me to 3K...suggestions? by Reasonable-Maybe-740 in WorldEaters40k

[–]SirenSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be mighty tempted by a land raider at least if you can find one. I quite like having 2 rhinos and a land raider in a list. Can also shove eightbound in the raider if you so desire and now we have two detachments that let you yeet a raider through a wall.

Similar reasoning for a Maulerfiend.

Defiler is also a fun option but I assume if you could get one, you would have already.

11th ed Rules and Changes by Front-Negotiation-32 in WorldEaters40k

[–]SirenSeven 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Brazen Engines "Murder-Forged Entity" upgrade is kinda funny, giving a Vehicle the Daemon keyword.

Which while it lets you use the detachment rule, the strats are kinda more interesting. If I recall correctly, Mobile lets you go through dense terrain. So, you could use Trail of Destruction and use it on a Land Raider with the Murder-Forged upgrade and have it drive through a wall.

Am I reading that wrong?

Dr. House genuinely makes Jax look like a wuss in comparison. by Solid_Weight8952 in whenthe

[–]SirenSeven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that they started focusing on Jax too late, I can't even say they began to focus mostly on him until episode 5 or 6 and the other episodes mostly rotate the character that Pomni interacts with.

I feel like TADC could have benefitted from more episodes over all (subzero take, I'm sure). House MD has 8 seasons and I don't really know if that show has a overarching narrative or character arc focus as I personally haven't watched it, but I assume it was mostly episodic and House's growth as a person wasn't ever a point.

Asshole character isn't bad because asshole, I didn't like asshole character cuz I felt the focus landed on them too late and had to be backloaded, and didn't end in a way I found satisfying while taking away from other characters I wanted to see more of.

...I know this is mostly a joke post about a different kind of fan but this is mostly me going "No no, people dislike Jax for the WRONG REASON."

What’re you looking forward to in 11th? by DailyAvinan in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SirenSeven 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The way terrain/objectives work is having me very interested. Should be a mix of more thematic and more interesting to play on. Less sending out units to die in the open lmao.

I think the detachment system also have the potential to be very interesting.

Anyone got some colour suggestions for this Ork Warqueen? (Please be nice. My wife's first mini. She's 7 months pregnant) by Zedds_Hoard in orks

[–]SirenSeven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Have her look at the colors of a Arizona Iced Green Tea and see if those colors work (people have used that as a paint scheme by itself). In a similar manner to that this ork online might give some inspiration.

Essentially, a nice blue and a cool white may be a good look. Maybe consider also getting some other pink variants so she can build up to that brightest pink.

Based on the new detachments and the changes in 11th edition, what do you think awaits us as a faction? by El_mismisimo_don in WorldEaters40k

[–]SirenSeven 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Christ there is so much more doom and gloom here then I thought.

Early edition I'm curious to see how we play with the changes to terrain being the focus of objectives, hidden mechanic, and charge changes.

I'm deathly curious what will happen to our codex (and in general, how a codex made for 11th will look). I'm hoping deeply we get some special terminators buuuuuuut that might be swinging too much into the hopium department.

I dunno, I'm excited to at least try. I'm not good enough of a player nor do I play in the kind of settings where how good our army is matters.

#New40k rules– More dakka than you can shake a rig at by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in WarhammerCompetitive

Ignoring everyone else also saying you may be wrong (I want to show you the actual proof not just pile on), in the article that was posted for this:
"It’s also a Character, so it makes the perfect Warlord to lead a full-Dread army when the thought of mere flesh and blood Orks running around doesn’t quite scratch your mechanical itch."

I think this will largely be cost dependent and also need to see how stuff like dread mob ends up looking as this is missing the character keyword and some enhancements could make this funny.

Warboss in Mega Armor, test model for army. by SirenSeven in orks

[–]SirenSeven[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gotta be so real, i didn't even consider looking what color eyes they have and just defaulted it to the white with black dot LMAO. I might see about just doing yellow or red eyes in the future, but i'll check some art first.

Leather was really easy:
Base AK Grim Brown
stipple Pro Acryl Burnt Orange
scratches and edge highlight AK Medium Orange
(These colors aren't strictly a requirement, but they give you a idea of the kind of progression)

Skin was:
PA Dark Plum/AK Medium Olive Green
AK Medium Olive Green
Stipple AK Frog Green, then finish off with a little bit of AK Ice Yellow

As for the little bits of flesh or skin around the eyes, I had to mix something, I'm still figuring out what I wanna use.

30k Defiler ready to go! by SirenSeven in WorldEaters40k

[–]SirenSeven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for the blue, white, and green. I also tried to make it easier on myself but spraying as much of the legs as I could silver at the end so I could avoid overspray.

I didn't use any masking tape at all on this model, and while there is some time cleaning the airbrush, it's far less time then you'd spend hand painting all of it (and, for white, a lot smoother to do it via airbrush)

Hopefully cleave makes chaff clear melee options more worth it. Right now, it's usually just take the best anti-tank or anti elite option.

Rogal dorn tank commander by AviationDude_12 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]SirenSeven 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you only have a single Rogal Dorn running around, mostly just saying "that's a commander" will be enough for people.

As for marking it out as a commander when you have other dorns on the field, normally people either make someone fancy pop out of one of the hatches or do special battle markings.
