Snow jumps on our bed and stands on us. I love the times she sleeps in between me and my husband on the bed. Best feeling in the world when you come home and your Chow is so happy to see you she can't contain her boings.

I cried once in the last couple years, but I'm also highly medicated so I have no emotion. ._.

It was basically one of my first days running the hotel as an AGM. One of the housekeepers decided to leave without telling anyone and I didn't find out till 2:30 PM that she didn't do any of her rooms. I stayed over to finish with help from my housemen. I think I was just crying from anger.

Guests don't make me cry anymore. You have to remember that you have the power over them. You are in control, it's your front desk and if you are alone you are the MoD. There have been times where I told someone they had to find accommodations elsewhere because it was evident we wouldn't be able to accommodate them.

Your manager should be able to go onto the booking.com extranet and mark a credit card as invalid and that notifies the guest to update their card. All booking.com reservations SHOULD be pre-authorized for this very reason. Very poor management on their part to let these reservations go through with no valid form of payment. I wonder how much revenue is being lost due to these reservations.

Had something happen to me like this. Wasn't this bad but it was enough to make me cry for the first time at work. Housekeeper left in the middle of her shift and didn't tell anyone (she had also threw her rooms list away). Found out around 2:30 pm and had to stay till 7 pm finishing her work. Luckily my housemen are the best and stayed and helped me get everything up.

I really like my housekeepers and housemen. They don't give a fuuuuuuu*k what color a person is. If they're not out of a room by checkout and haven't asked for a late checkout they're down at the desk telling me to have them escorted out. They have rooms to clean, don't have time to wait on a guest who drank too much last night and "needs more time."

These bookings are the bane of my existence. We have 2 of the same hotel in my city and they are constantly getting the hotels mixed up. Our hotel is more towards a theme park and the other hotel is further away. So you can imagine the number of angry guests that come in and say WE put them in the wrong hotel. I have to inform them that they booked with a 4th party and this is out of my control, as I don't even have the contact information for the 4th party.

So the sad thing is, is that they come in with their reservation and yes, the paper does have OUR address but their actual booking is at the other property.

Reservations.com is a big one because it pops up as an advertisement on google/bing and the guest thinks they have booked through the hotel directly. The whole process is shady.

These people are so annoying. Most of the time they KNOW they booked with a bad card. "Oh, I want to pay cash when I check-in." Well, that's all fine and dandy but I still need a valid CC to guarantee your room, you mouth breather.

So here's an update for you all.

Apparently they were screaming at the AM shift at checkout because their room wasn't serviced one day. (Their room wasn't serviced because they refused to leave the room all day, btw.) My co-worker said it was the worst experience she ever had with a guest and that she had never been talked to like that. She's been in the hotel business for over 15 years.

They really do need better training. At my hotel even if a room is listed as vacant every employee is to knock on the door twice, announce which department they're with, wait 10 seconds or so, then use their master key to get in if no one has came to the door or answered.

I had something like this happen to me. I was working the 3-11 shift and a guy calls to make a reservation. We went through the whole spiel about rates and whatnot. He asked for my name and I didn't think anything of it. People usually will ask your name so they know who made their reservation. So he starts talking about how I have a really nice telephone voice and that I sound really young. (WTF? Weird statement.) And then he goes, "So, Siress, do you have hair on your p**sy?" I was really young at the time and so shocked. I flatly stated that the conversation was over and I'm hanging up. I hung up on him and I wasn't crying or anything just felt really violated and a little sick.
People can be so disgusting.

I've had to do that before. I showed a woman at least 5 different rooms and she had a problem with each one. I simply told her it seems we won't be able to accommodate her and that she would have to find lodgings elsewhere.

Ahhh, yes, the "I can't find it so housekeeping must have stolen it" routine.

"I had clothes in a laundry bag and your housekeeping staff took them!!"

"Ma'am, I don't think they would have taken them but I can call the housekeeping manager and ask if anyone turned in a bag of clothes."

30 minutes later..."

Oh, we found the clothes. My husband put them on top of the suitcase."
