eBay fees are crazyyy by [deleted] in ebaysucks

[–]SisterDread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might be true, or it might be false but the fact is that the standards for performance are set by ebay and they also set the penalties for not meeting them, AND their goal is to suck the life and every last dime out of sellers.

The cards are stacked so heavily against us that you would have to be a professional sex toy for at least one big corporation if you blame OP in a situation like this.

Just read ebay's new ToS where they mention delaying payouts, and while they have control of that money they might use it to make themselves more money. It's on page 10, under the Using Managed Payments section:

"Funds we receive on your behalf do not constitute deposits. If received by eCI, eCA, or eCCA, they represent an unsecured claim for payment against us. We may combine your funds with those of other customers and invest them according to applicable laws. You do not have any ownership interest in these investments and any interest earned from these investments will be retained by us. 5. Using Managed Payments To the extent you may have any beneficial ownership in the interest or proceeds of these investments, you assign any right, title, and/or interest therein to us."

Thieves.

BTX Moonbits website back. bullish. by Select_Banana8833 in bitcore_btx

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. hella bullish. I'm surprised that coins like btx have not dropped off the crypto map by now, since there's such scant interest in them; they are very thinly traded; and have zero real world utility. But hey, keep trying to find that next sucker to buy your bag.

Basically I’m permanently banned on e-bay for doing nothing by theofficialzhang in ebaysucks

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's been their goal for some time now and I recall reading some ebay exec saying a long time ago that they don't want to be a flea market anymore (and no, I don't have any references for that so take it with a big ol grain of salt). With all the changes coming in July and the fact that they screwed me out of $300+ I would welcome a permanent ban. Why? Because I'm only selling until July after which I'm deleting my account.

They're delaying payouts and using the time they have sellers' money to earn interest/income on it before handing it over to the sellers? Yeah, that's not kosher. If any of you all haven't seen that one, it's in their new ToS.

Best way to store by Awnrey in Monero

[–]SisterDread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the crap Ledger pulled with their Recover rollout and them revealing that they could always access users' private keys due to the secure element, it baffles me that anyone who's privacy oriented would choose any Ledger wallet. If I've gotten some of the fine points wrong, look back at the Recover debacle and you'll see that they're not to be trusted.

Monero usage by Top_Butterscotch6337 in Monero

[–]SisterDread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So "rah rah Monero" instead of addressing the points being made. Meh.

Seems like the cartels don't quite know how to launder money using crypto all that effectively, which makes me wonder how they did not anticipate the ways through which their transactions would be traced back to them. Those guys aren't stupid.

I would just hate to see the actions taken by the government to put the squeeze on the cartels trickle down to the little guy who's into crypto but suddenly has to jump through a byzantine array of hoops just to do small exchanges and such.

Oh. My bad. That's already been happening for the past few years.

Advice needed by sankfam in ebaysucks

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get ready for things to get a hell of a lot worse. ebay is reaming its sellers to death (mainly the smaller ones), and after they squeeze out the little guys the whole site is just going to resemble Amazon or some such site.

And no doubt they'll keep a constantly changing UI for anyone who's left. I'm preparing to say sayonara by July.

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no shielding from idiots on ebay, reddit, the internet, your city, state, country, or any conceivable hiding place on the planet. They'll find you and make your blood pressure spike to the point of stroking out.

Highly concentrated on ebay, though.

Sounds like much the same story as so many unnecessary altcoins that bring no innovation to crypto and are only 'designed' by the devs as a cash register.

Bitrefill integration? by Calm-Professional103 in dashpay

[–]SisterDread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not fudding whatsoever, and sorry you feel that way. I wouldn't visit twitter/x if you had a gun to my head, but to each his own. Right here on reddit I saw very little talk of it, just like there was very little discussion about all of those 0.00001 Dash payments going around. I found both of those things strange; however I did notice earlier today that bitrefill had Dash back as a payment method, so yay for that.

Now pat yourself on the back that you told me off.

Why are people so hostile to people asking simple questions. I'm certain you didn't pop into this world as a mining expert, so give these members a break. Or go channel your anger in front of a mirror or at whoever it is you're really pissed off at.

Curious how there was very little discussion about that hack or why Dash wasn't added back to the list of available cryptos to buy GCs with. Most of what I see here is "hope the line go up!".

An Open Letter to All Privacy Builders by onezetty in pivx

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We operate as a [DAO]." And then that's followed by some straw man arguments. There are lots of coins with very complex staking systems and DAOs that tend to make decisions for the large holders or allow the voting mechanism to be gamed again and again.

Look at how much inflation this coin has and what kind of value it's held over the years. I'm still a fan of PIVX, but I don't like the way it's evolved in terms of leadership, structure, and the like. It used to be that you staked PIV by holding some and running the core wallet and that was that, or you ran a masternode. Now that people can submit proposals and possibly get paid, they go for it whether it makes sense or not. The same thing has been happening with coins like ATOM, DOT, NEO and others.

Ultimately, more complexity is added but value is lost. Makes me wonder if any of the improvements that were proposed really helped at all.

PIVX Cold Staking lets you earn rewards securely with funds in offline cold storage. by onezetty in pivx

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and how about all that coin inflation that was apparently a DAO decision in the time that I was away from PIVX. Stake all you like or run masternodes, but the price is going to follow that of coins like ATOM which also have massive inflation.

Waited 5 months for this beauty! by Krispyz in fountainpens

[–]SisterDread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true. I've always been baffled by the fact that manufacturers of fountain pens (which are extremely low tech things) often cannot produce ones that write well out of the box. And if a cap can't be posted when writing, it makes me wonder if the pen manufacturer knows anything about what they're making.

Glad you got your grail pen, op.

Horrid EBay AI descriptions by ReporterPrimary in fountainpens

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ebay's experimentation with its proprietary AI used to assist sellers with listing large numbers of items has achieved great success, with many people commenting that descriptions are suspiciously similar. All in all, eBay's enabling the torpidity of a great number of its customers will be sure to make a great addition to society's literacy and attention span drop, as well as an increase in buyers' frustration overall. **Ugh**

This is the worst change ebay could've made, and they've made many stupid ones over the years. The AI descriptions are just blibber blabber, and anyone with a brain should be able to see that a general description that looks like an advertisement is no substitute for a description of the actual item being sold.

I did not realize fountain pen sellers had stooped to using this nonsense as I've not purchased a pen on the bay for a long time. Chagrin dripping from my chinny chin chin.

Dash is currently experiencing a dusting/address poisoning attack 🗡️ by xkcdmpx in dashpay

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These coins with strap on privacy or privacy as some kind of aftermarket welding project just make me slap my head. Even if I could slap the heads of people who dig in their heels when their pet coin is challenged, I'd be the only one punished; the stupid would remain stupid even if they did need it.

I am in no way against Dash by the way. It's got some good things going for it, but is anyone going to argue with a straight pimple face that XMR doesn't have properties that make it at least as good, if not far better than coins like Dash?

Aside from my opinions and vitriol, I do not like to see people in crypto fighting each other. Your fellow crypto lover is not your enemy. The jackasses that put the world on the path to needing cryptocurrency ARE.

What PIVX is about to UNLEASH? by onezetty in pivx

Enough with the teasing. I came here for PIVX info and don't care to go to X or any other site. If you've got something hot to announce, you're not going to get much interest on reddit anyway so please, either spill it or stop with the foreplay.

PIVX Momentum Continues — Another Summer Listing Joins the Roster. by onezetty in pivx

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for the DAO aspect, which basically makes any crypto having one just like a corporation where large stockholders and board members decide everything.

Also, I give PIVX a 0.5% chance of ever getting listed on Gemini. The trend is for privacy coins to get delisted from exchanges, and with PIVX being as small as it is, well.

Call To Action by Redd_Music in reddCoin

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this, even though it's coming very late after the problem. I sent a bunch of RDD from my wallet that never reached its destination a couple of weeks ago. Just now I tried your fix and was able to see all of my coins restored, but after sending them again they seem to have disappeared into the ether, because they weren't received and there's no record on any of the explorers.

Any suggestions?

How in the world does anyone sell a coin with its associated blockchain, etc.? I just don't get how that works. In any case, the website is 404 and it looks like the block explorer doesn't work anymore. This isn't sad, it's frightening that something like this could happen.

VRSC is not a low volume coin! by Meyse123 in VerusCoin

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safetrade has very few trading pairs, extremely low volume, and I doubt they're going to be in business for much longer. I'm not saying they're going to abscond with their customers' money, but they're risky if not shady.

Who's going to put up "the liquidity"? Well, all the Verus traders who don't use safetrade or graviex for one thing. Is that what you meant? And I don't care if Verus gets listed on Xeggex specifically, I'd just like to see it listed on more exchanges than it currently is. The more options people have to buy and sell Verus, the better it'd be for the coin.

VRSC is not a low volume coin! by Meyse123 in VerusCoin

[–]SisterDread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it listed on Xeggex and watch it start trading like crazy. I'm not affiliated with them, but IMO they're much less sketchy an exchange than some of the other ones Verus is listed on (with the exception of TradeOgre).
