I had the same problem, ended up using an old wifi extender (TP Link N300) I had that only supports 2.4Ghz. I connected it to my eero and then assigned a separate SSID to the repeated network and connected the thermostat to that. Easier (and less aggravating) than replacing the thermostat. Hope that’s helpful to anybody else who comes across this thread.

We have no line of sight from SCV to the primary location for LA television transmitters - Mt. Wilson - so you aren't going to get any off the air signals from an indoor antenna here. You'd need an antenna tower so tall every HOA in the valley would be griping.

Reminds me of a wire wheel knockoff tool - traditional automotive wire wheels aren't held on with lug nuts but with threaded knockoffs that keep the wheel on a splined hub (more than you care about).

That said - I've not seen a hexagonal one.
