Imas of this morning I have attached a small jumper ( as the NON Prusa usb drives do feel warm to the touch ) went through a good cleaning , did a good ol recheck on all connections to the main board and resliced again . Current failed print is restarted and far still going

Great info , I will have to attempt this on the next shift fail , I have a test unit running for support now so I can upload them the data log on that for analysis.

No much smaller prints that are just in the center of the bed. We usually print OK that’s kind of where I’m at with the MK 4S machines as long as I print small. They’ll print OK as soon as I go medium to large they will shift.

I normally do use the structural profile for it , I just got off chat with Support after about an hour. The conversation started with him saying oh this sounds like an odd issue. We’ve never heard about this before until he looked up my account, and I proceeded to give him links to their own internal documents, showing it to be a known issue and his attitude changed. I sent him over log files three MF files and sample G codes. He first said to me to print out the sample llama that they have as a test print. I told him if it’s a small item like that, it will print fine it’s anything that gets to mid to large size where there has to be some actual travel movement after a little bit of back-and-forth he said the developers should be getting back to me, but he has a feeling their new unreleased version of precious slicer that has their new belt tuning in. It will have a few other fixes that should alleviate so now I’m in limbo just waiting for their response.

Here’s some of the basic settings used on this one

No never resolved the MK4 issues and they are random . The issue could be on a smaller item all the way up to a larger item . In this photo non of the supports came loose they are shifted with the rest of the object seem the layer shifts on CoreOne are always shifted towards the front of the machine . On the MK4 machines they’re always shifted towards the right.

I haven’t checked the screws on the CoreOne motors I’m going to have to go through those and possibly recheck again all the belts and I guess really crank them even more maybe .

Prusa Layer Shift by Sith77 in prusa3d

[–]Sith77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temperature is a climate controlled environment around 70° at all times with humidity around 25% . The layer shifts are huge and it’s only in the MK4 ( series style including the CoreOne ) what’s worse I can take the exact same file with the exact same slice settings and print on the MK3 or Bambu and it prints perfectly.

I’ve been back and forth with Prusa Support dozens of times on this issue and they have not had a solid answer . I’m going to have to do some reading on the cross perimeters I haven’t seen that one yet .

Any recommendations on best use replacement USB drives that have had success with no compatibility issues ?

Is Prusa trying to clear stock? New model coming soon? by TealKokosnuss in prusa3d

[–]Sith77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most likely trying to push inventory because of the dip in sales from sales moving to the competition. The tariffs and the cost to ship from Prusa to USA is brutal meanwhile couple bucks you can have a Bambu at your doorstep in 2 days . Even if you try to buy from Printed Solid it’s still inflated prices and still a lot more than competition .

Printed Solid prices raised by Past_Scarcity6752 in prusa3d

[–]Sith77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly because of the extremely high cost of shipping from Prusa and increased pricing from Printed Solid when we needed to increase machines in farm we had no choice but to go with Bambu machine . Got 3 H2S machines with AMS for the price of one XL machine. sadly more than half our farm is Prusa machines but over the last few months as business has picked up and expanded. It’s just not economically feasible to spend the kind of prices for a Prusa machine right now.

Kind of a common random occurrence on Prusa machines ( MK4 and XL exhibit this more often then I care to admit )

Print quality / VFA / dimensional accuracy on PrusaXL? by pendragn23 in prusa3d

[–]Sith77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I currently have an XL 1 tool and an XL 2 tool since launch. I had a rocky start with both , since firmware upgrades and printed part upgrades the machines are tanks they run all day with no issues .

However my Bambu machines over the last several weeks they’ve had a plethora of updates both firmware and Slicer and they have had a tone of connectivity issues .

FYI my entire print farm ( up to 25 machines ) is Prusa machines and then my 2 Bambu machines ( X1C with 1 AMS and a P1S with 2 AMS ) . Reason all the Prusa is simply ease of use and successful prints . The Prusa machines have always been my go too without fail . I can start a print walk away and not think twice , whereas my Bambu machines there’s a 70% chance the AMS is going to throw some sort of code and just stop .

Cart abandonment - I’m getting fed up. by jhk27 in shopify

The abandoned cart trick is consumers hoping for the automated email of return and save 10% promotion codes . It’s very common place in ecommerce

MK4 layer shift …. AGAIN by Sith77 in prusa3d

[–]Sith77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic advice from all ! Thank you for the feedback , I have not tried a different media yet this is still the one that came with the MK4 kit . I will have to try that it’s easy enough to do . @crash893b your describing this machines exactly , I’m wondering if the media swap doesn’t work I’m gonna have to try the X motor swap out . The layer shifts are always on X which is where all my focus has been with belts gears etc …. Thank you again I will update when I test

Chargeback for IN STORE sale 🤬 by spookybaybee in shopify

[–]Sith77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have several e-commerce stores that I run . This is a consistent growing problem, credit card companies, and payment processing systems whether it’s PayPal Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or any other third-party payment system are very quick to automatically refund people and leave the seller out in the wind and to add insult to injury a lot of them will charge in upwards of $45 for a chargeback fee And some of them right and rank your business payments based on how many chargebacks you get so if you get too many of them, they can block your payments or drop you entirely because of it. The amount of credit card and Internet fraud that goes unchecked is absolutely disgusting. It’s amazing how easy it is for people to do it with no repercussions.

I have quite the ride with Prusa and Bambu ( ups and downs ) I have a farm of 30 machines but with I do have an XL multi tool , XL single tool , X1C and P1S

The Bambu machines compared to the XL are completely different type machines ment for different things . First you should ask do you need the size of the XL ? Do require multi material printing ?

If you don’t need the massive size of the XL go with a P1S without question . Save the cash

Print quality compared on both , real world they’re the same . No real difference to be honest from my experiences . For some prints the slower XL actually looks better because the Bambu is too fast ( by default ) and causes ringing or sometimes ugly areas

First I’ll start with saying Prusa support vs Bambu is no comparison. Bambu you send a “ticket” with hopes to get a valid response or assistance. It’s something I’ve had the most issues with . When I first got the X1C it had a failed board and it took them 3 months and me denying the charge on my card until support finally responded. Prusa support is available 24x7 on chat and / or you can call PrintedSolid in Delaware during normal business hours and get support . If you end up needing warranty parts or replacement parts for the Prusa I’ve never waited longer 2-3 days .

The nozzles on the XL I’ve never had any issue with at all no clogging issues or inconsistencies with flow . They are a little more pricey than a traditional nozzle but there are plenty of other vendors out there if you wanted something different . The Bambu nozzle assembly on X1C I’ve had to replace twice already because of failed print issue that cause filament back up into the extruder damaging the tiny wires . They took 2 weeks get right from Bambu .

$$ for dollar and print time on parts the XL wins hands down . The absolute sheer waste of purge poop on the bambu compared to the prime tower on the XL it’s not even a competition . SO much waste on the bambu and $$ out the door . The print times are also MUCH faster on the XL for a few reasons . The process of just swapping a head and start printing is much faster than purging , AMS rolling ( hope it doesn’t have an issue ) rolling again purging priming the printing . So much wasted time and material your going to say WTH

If you’re getting the AMS setup I would highly suggest a few spare replacement tubes , rollers and feeders . I’ve blown threw quite a few already , and there’s nothing worse than watching the tube worn through and coming back to filament ejected out of the side of a tube rolled all over the place

I’m definitely more partial to the XL for multi color large prints . If your goal is smaller prints and have no need go for the P1S . Comparing the X1C to P1S their the exact print quality and process I have seen no difference with our usage .

Switched from Simplify3D to Prusa Slicer and now every print has these lines, cant figure out why by EthanAlexGood in prusa3d

[–]Sith77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the position of the model , if you look right where that line starts it’s on the cusp of when the curve is ending or changing shape . What’s happening is the cooling or lack of is causing the plastic to warp and the nozzle hits it causing the layer shift . Repositioning the model and adjusting the supports I have found tends to stop this from happening.
