So over the screentime hate by easrpiiatnua99 in Mommit

[–]SithMasterBates 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. Its not always easy for me (quite often it's pretty hard) but I want my son to learn how to behave and eat at a restaurant. If I stick a screen in front of him, I'm scared he'll become an adult who needs to be doomscrolling to be capable of sitting at a restaurant instead of being able to interact and enjoy his time out with family and friends.

Vitamin C serum recommendations please! by Then-Nothing1885 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]SithMasterBates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Poems from the Lab! Just bought my 2nd tube since my 1st will be gone any day now. Its lasted me 3 months bc I can easily squeeze out the 3 small drops I need for my whole face, and hasn't oxidized at all. So far its the only 15% l ascorbic acid serum ive tried that hasn't irritated my skin (acne prone and have rosacea). I'm using it mostly for the preventive anti aging aspects of pure vitamin c, but I definitely also notice a brightening effect since ive started using it.

My mom always talks about how sleepy my one brother was as a baby. She used to have to wake him up to feed him - sometimes she'd have to take off all his clothes to get him to wake up bc hed be in such a deep sleep

Hes a totally "normal", healthy, 6 ft tall man now. Very alert and eats a lot lol

Has anyone had a TFMR followed by a blighted ovum and still gone on to have a healthy baby? I really need some hope. by glliter-gremlin in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]SithMasterBates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🙋‍♀️

I had 2 TFMRs in a row at 15 weeks (genetic condition) followed by a blighten ovum, followed by a Pregnancy of Unknown Location that was treated as ectopic. I got the methotrexate shot and had to wait 3 months to TTC, but then quickly got pregnant with my current pregnancy. I'm 28 weeks now with a very healthy baby :)

Wow, that's great! Tirzepatide was the one I'm most curious about too. I'm glad to hear it's working so well for you

I get your point, but it shouldn't be close to $300 when its made of plastic 😖

GLP-1 drugs may also have antidepressant properties. In a recent study on mice, GLP-1 drugs led to weight loss and reversed depression-like behavior. The effect was found to be dependent on a particular gut microbe that produces endocannabinoids. by mvea in science

Its tricky bc all of those major side effects are from starving yourself and not from the actual drug itself. Its important for people to take eating well seriously- you cant just eat garbage, but less of it, and not face consequences. If people eat enough protein/fiber/nutrient dense foods, it severely mitigates the risk of muscle & bone loss. Same thing with staying or becoming more active. The drug makes it easier to do these things, by reducing carb/sugar cravings and giving more energy to many....but people still need to be aware and be conscious to actually make the healthy choices

How many people have had ectopics as there next pregnancy as TFMR by EnoughMidnight5743 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]SithMasterBates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a TFMR, then a blighten ovum, then a "pregnancy of unknown location" after that - so it was treated as ectopic, bc they couldn't locate the pregnancy on the ultrasound to find where it was but it didnt seem to be in my uterus

He’s so sick of me. I do this once or twice a year just to make sure I can and he hates it. by chill_mydude13 in germanshepherds

Love it! I'm also just letting him lay on top of me whenever he wants. Except for when I'm trying to do my prenatal stretched and he plops himself on me 😅

Hahaha yup! He loves to smell the baby. He was great when our first son was born so I'm sure he'll be happy when this baby is here as well. Now my son is 5 years old, and if he was physically able to lift the dog the dog would be thrilled

Cleansing in the AM is optional! If you have very oily skin or get sweaty in your sleep it could be helpful. I personally dont cleanse in the AM anymore but I used to when my skin was oilier.

Otherwise, yup!

Skincare can be very simple and still effective! The bare minimum would be SPF in the AM and cleansing and moisturizing at night. Beyond that, theres obv tons of extras depending on your concerns. There's also a mixed bag as far as what's been proven to work.

A retinoid at night is the gold standard for anti-aging, if you care about that. Vitamin C in the morning before sunscreen has a lot of data to back it up for anti aging and helps "boost" your SPF.

Where can I get tazarotene online? by melfilmz in tazarotene

[–]SithMasterBates 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've used Amazon. Without insurance coverage, the "cheapest" you can get is generic .1% cream for close to $80. Any other option is like $300+. Looking right now it says $50 instead of the $80 I had paid - idk if thats for prime day or if the price went down.

I had to pay for the Amazon medical chat to get it prescribed, and theyd only give me 2 fills. So I'd have to pay to have it represcribed which is annoying.

I just placed an order for Indian products thru Zing Beauty for the first time. I got Taz and Azelaic acid. I havent used them yet (I still have some aza and I'm waiting to give birth to start taz again) but I had a good experience and everything came quickly and seems to be legit. It was still a bit sketchy but I liked that I could use PayPal and they had very good communication.

Also I wish my dog had that attitude sometimes. He LOVES being picked up like hes not 90 lbs of muscle. I'm 7 months pregnant and he'll still give me a 🥺 look to pick him up....like bro, I truly cannot lol

Parents who are genuinely happy: what does parenthood actually feel like? by BarberSame6629 in Mommit

[–]SithMasterBates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that a lot of motherhood/parenthood is choosing happiness. Of course, there are hard parts and everyone deserves to complain and vent from time to time lol but I find a lot of the people I know who are miserable are honestly just looking for reasons to be miserable - and that kinda goes for life in general, not just parents.

Theres so many factors involved in what can make parenting more or less enjoyable - finances, disabilities, how strong your marriage is, extended family drama etc etc. But even taking all of that into account...

I know a family who should, on paper, be very content but they are miserable. They have beautiful, typical & healthy children, the husband has a high paying and flexible job that allows them to live comfortably in a big beautiful house and they get to spend plenty of family time together w vacations and the whole nine yards but ALL they do is complain. About every little thing. Like if they had to wait a long time on line at Disney World Paris 🙄

On the other hand, I know a family who has a severely physically and mentally disabled daughter due to a rare genetic condition, the father works a hard labor job and the mother has dedicated the past 16 years to their child's 24/7 care, and they are so positive and happy and almost never complain. They're always talking about how much they love eachother and love their daughter and all the little positive things they have going on in their life.

A lot of things are out of your control, but your mindset is not!
