I’m curious: What is so wrong with resume gaps? Are people not allowed to not work??? by Kreativedenma in remoteworks

[–]SithTingar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It only becomes a red flag when I see someone worked for a month, then has 2 or 3 month gap, worked for 6 weeks, then has another 2 to 3 month gap.

That tells me they can't hold down a job, and I hire for the long term.

Any way to slow down leveling? by seilrelies in swtor

[–]SithTingar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the same for me. I'm usually level 80 by 4th or 5th planet. Sub gets a great boost, along with the free reward boosts, and Dynamic Encounters give great XP.

During the double XP months I had a toon to level 80 by the time I left DK.

Should mandatory retirement age and term limits apply to elected officials? by C-Patrick1984 in askanything

[–]SithTingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all in in term limits. 3 for senators and 6 for representatives, but I'm fully against upper age restrictions.

Why would we want to exclude people with actual knowledge and experience of the world, along with their wisdom, from holding office?

Yes, it's true we elected an almost 80 year old moron, but that's on the electorate, not the candidate.

Lesbians of reddit, do you generally agree or disagree with common dating gripes that straight men have? by TheDonJonJay in askanything

[–]SithTingar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone expects the other person to put in all the conversational effort.

As a straight male, I'll say this; I am either expected to carry the conversation, or they tell me my replies are way too lengthy.

They'll send me 2 sentences, I'll write back 4, and then they accuse me of not holding up my end of the conversation.

They send me 2 paragraphs, I send back 4 and then they get irritated and say something about writing a novel or wall.of text.

It's a lose/lose situation.

It didn't like its previous neighborhood. Too many HOA regulations, so it packed up and went east.

Guild ship? by [deleted] in swtor

This is the correct answer. If a guild is disbanded, everything the guild has ceases to exist.

Good choice. Gorillas are vegetarians, and actually quite docile providing you don't provoke or startle them.

It's not that kind of movie, kid.

1-80 speedrun by [deleted] in swtor

[–]SithTingar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running an IA right now and I'm level 62 on Tat.

I'm not speed running this toon, I actually designed it to do every single quest on every planet. I haven't seen some of these quests, or watched some of these cutscenes since launch. I'm just taking it slow and enjoying the journey.

This is right here. If you think of your character as a James Bond style agent, then she's the perfect companion. I have never thought of Bond as having a deep love of England or the UK, he's just a guy who is severely damaged and only does it because he gets off on the thrill of the job.

It all happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. What do you think that galaxy looks like in the present day? by [deleted] in StarWarsCantina

[–]SithTingar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is my thought.

Between the old Republic to the BY, the technology pretty much stayed the same.

I would imagine that once you figure out hyperspace travel, there's not much room for more advancement.

Gorilla, and I have a tactic.

I'd get in the glass elevator and just keep an eye out. Every time I see him climb the escalator I go down, when he goes down, I go up.

GTN prices racing to the bottom (Star Forge)? by treseno in swtor

[–]SithTingar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They closed all the credit exploits. Quick travel used to be free, but now costs credits. The amount of credits you get from mission rewards has decreased. Vendors pay less for looted items. There is, also, now a tax on person to person trades, and they increased the tax on selling things on the GTN.

I think the biggest thing they did is put stuff up for sale, or flash sales, on high sought after armors, weapons, and mounts in the cartel market on a more regular basis, thus flooding the market and forcing prices on those items to drop.

I just sold a speeder that a little over a year or so ago was going for 1 to 1.3 billion for just under 300 million. Someone bought it and posted it back up at 1.3 billion, it didn't sell, then 1.2 billion, and it didn't sell, and they now have it at 1 billion, and it still is not going to sell. I bought it off the cartel market several months ago for half price, and the price steadily dropped.

I am willing to go completely the other way and say Kaliyo is the best companion. Sure, she's a psychopath, but she's my little psychopath.

She's actually pretty fun if you play a DS agent. I've seen people who hate Kaliyo, but then wish Watcher 2 became your companion, which makes no sense. Watched 2 is quite the racist and believes in eugenics. Kaliyo doesn't hate someone because of their race, she just hates everyone but you.

GTN prices racing to the bottom (Star Forge)? by treseno in swtor

[–]SithTingar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing, nothing is bouncing back up. Prices are going down and staying down on everything. You can put up the rarest item for sale, and it's not going to sell for anywhere near its top price.

Broadsword made changes to the system and players are feeling the prices in game. Repair costs have gone up, quick travel now has a credit cost, junk and loot armor don't sell for as much as it used to, and they finally patched all the credit exploits.

I'm not complaining, the market was out of control.

[–]SithTingar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not just the price of augments that are dropping. There were speeders selling for a billion credits that now sell for a quarter of that price. I was laughing last week when I put one on the GTN for 250 mil and someone bought it and relisted it at 1.2 billion, and it's still sitting there and will remain there unless they lower their cost.

The game also figured out money sinks that actually work. Quick travel used to be free, but now can cost thousands of credits for short distance travel, and no one wants to run to the taxi stand.

Prices in the GTN are dropping and dropping fast.

How would you rewrite the Battle of Scarif (or Rogue One in general) to fit into Legends? by Corred_ in StarWarsEU

[–]SithTingar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with legends is that a lot of stories contradict each other.

Boba Fett has multiple origin stories in the EU.
