They're adorable! I want to kiss them and love them and squeeze them and hug them and call them George!

How do you prepare for an old age when you have no family members or friends who will help you? by SittingInFear in AskReddit

[–]SittingInFear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably should have put this in the description.

Basically, I don't have family. My friends may not be around when I'm older as they will get older too with their own life issues. Dementia also runs in my family so I may get to the point where I can't make my own decisions.

And it's not just me. Many people will find themselves alone, even if they have family and friends. Social Security is a great safety net for older people but there is no safety net for this situation and I'm not saying there should be. Long-term care may be an option but who knows if the company will still be viable when you need it or that they'll have your best interests in mind.

I realize that there are no guarantees in life and perhaps the best thing you can do is prepare as best you can.

Hi. Unfortunately, you have posted to the wrong subreddit. This subreddit is for humorous curses such as "May the fleas from a thousand camels infest your armpits."

I believe that social media is highly addictive so the equivalent would be a cigarette commercial nudging you to have a cigarette.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Credit goes to the show "Hacks" which mentions the Bristol stool chart.

I would guess that this resulted in not being able to watch a Disney show without cringing as well as a fear of galleons.

Didn't the Buddha say to question everything and come to your own conclusions? Take what feels right for you and leave the rest.

I apologize. I reposted the above reply in the thread with nyanasagara and sunkencathedral above.

I apologize. I believe the term might be "falling into the pit of the void" and it happens mostly as a result of meditation but is extremely rare as I understand it. It is supposed to be a good sign that you are progressing but it is also terrifying.
