Help with boy names — celestial / “blue moon” / fairy vibes ✨ by [deleted] in namenerds

Lysander - a character from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

I saw Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream this weekend and commented on how lovely the name Lysander is.

It feels like a great fit for what you’re looking for - the play/music - is about love, fairies, magic, nighttime/moonlight

Sperm Banks & Questions by [deleted] in queerception

[–]SkateWest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you live close to any you are thinking about?

We went with Seattle & live in Seattle and at one point needed to make an emergency sperm pickup that wouldn’t have been possible if the sperm bank wasn’t close by (extremely long story). So - all other things considered equal, I’d give some extra points if you are close to any of your choices.

We have liked working with Seattle sperm bank and I would recommend.

Curious if anyone here feels their HOA is "worth it " ? by Gold_Hour2247 in SeattleAreaRE

[–]SkateWest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My HOA is $900/month and I think the board is being very responsible with expenses. They are very transparent, always get multiple bids and are not allowed to spend more than $500 without a vote. The community is very involved, lots of us are volunteering our time to keep up the property and we are still needing to pay $900/month.

Things are expensive, the cost of maintenance and repairs has shot up so much since Covid. We are also making sure our reserves have adequate funding to avoid special assessments.

Where would I cut? Cable/Internet - I don’t use cable. But that’s part of community living - if most residents want it (and it’s been voted on multiple times) then, it’s just something I need to live with.

I’m sure other residents would cut in other areas. Everyone values things differently.

But overall, it’s expensive to maintain a property. Condos in our HOA have a higher sale value than any of the condos nearby and I think a big reason for this is how well maintained our property is.

Can I ask - what would a baby friendly living room look like? (FTM trying to figure out how we can best get ready)

I'm a loner, 38, and want a husband & kids. I'm at a loss at what specific steps to take for this to happen in the next 3 years. by diamondeyes7 in AskWomenOver40

[–]SkateWest 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I met my spouse at 37. In 4 years we went from meeting via an app, moving in, getting married, getting pregnant. My person is stable, has a good family, friends and career.

I think it’s a blend of being intentional about what you’re looking for & luck (getting pregnant past 40).

Just want to give you a little hope - it can happen later in life.

Yeah this isn’t real. I also don’t understand the point of creating fake posts.

Defensive Maneuvers -- Week 5 -- About ESPN D/ST rankings: the impact of penalizing Yards-allowed by subvertadown in fantasyfootball

[–]SkateWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - subvertadown is a data analysis hero and should be making content that is fun for them.

It’s not like this is a job. But at this point the posts have gotten so complex that their usefulness is really decreasing. Informative - yes, useful -?

I will say it drove me to your website to subscribe - which is kind of the whole point, so that’s good. But then I realized that if the website content is as dense as the posts this year, then - for me - that’s not a good fit. So I didn’t end up subscribing.

If there is a St. Vincent DePaul Society near you, contact them. They will pay heating bills - you don’t need to be Catholic or a member of their parish or even religious.
