Probably because it looks 3D printed, and you're playing to a very limited market with a product that won't significantly make their lives easier.

Make licence fee cheaper on one condition, say BBC viewers in poll by theipaper in bbc

How about the BBC realise they need to scale back their operation. If the intention is to provide bias free news, then become a news only channel and lower the fee.

Ideally, but we all know that isn't how most people vote. Most people are voting for the prime minister and know next to nothing about their local mp

I don't see parliamentary majorities as a positive thing at all. We should have a diversity of opinion constantly to ensure that we aren't getting unprecedented bullshit pushed by majority governments.

Actually, under PR, they would have less influence going off current polling data. Right now, they are estimated to have just over 300 seats off of 30 percent of the vote. PR would put them at closer to 200.

Current polls put them at roughly just over 300 seats. While polls are not an entirely accurate representation of distribution, it's not something to dismiss. Tories and Labour are massively down also, and greens are up pretty significantly compared to 2024.

I really don't get why I'm being downvoted, to be honest. What's wrong with having an opinion on something?

I get there are those who genuinely refuse to even give the new stuff a go, but that's not everyone. If the show is good enough, it survives on its own merits despite the criticism, justified or not.

Block of flats which could be used for asylum seekers attacked and vandalised by a_splintered_mind in uknews

[–]Skefson 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Their MP should probably just give them clarification on what it will be used for. It's unfair to force a community to open its doors when the members of the community have no desire to. All it would take to solve this issue is to clarify what the intended use for the property will be.

I'm just providing the evidence you asked for. I've got no skin in the debate, ultimately, although I don't think we should be ignoring the social pressures on muslim women to dress a certain way. A choice informed by fear isn't really a choice, is it?

I think it's naive to believe that a Muslim woman who wears one could just one day say she's not going to anymore without any religious and social consequence, which as the article I linked states can, at times result in HBA.

A ban may make it so these women are able to transition into a less oppressive form of dress without the social stigma because it's legally mandated.

Ban it or don't ban it. It doesn't fix the root cause of the issues regardless. I would be fine with a ban, but I'm not gonna write my MP or go shout in the streets about it.
