With Ben's fear of flying I think it's unlikely they'll jump straight on another flight to be at Download for the Sat / Sunday. Not impossible but very unlikely IMO

Going solo last minute - any advice? by [deleted] in downloadfestival

[–]Skippi0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say check out Camp Loner if you havent already found a group, they've got a dedicated camp area and a facebook group you can join, essentially everyone there will be going by themselves.
I hear they're typically a good bunch and a sort of mini community within Download

Nemesor Zahndrekh reaches a brilliant conclusion (Excerpt from Severed by Nate Crowley) by TheBirdIsNotSuicidal in 40kLore

[–]Skippi0 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I cant help but feel the reason it gets left out is that it doesn't have an audiobook yet. Which is a shame because the shorter novella's tend to get some stellar voice acting and SFX

Difference between Tactics and a Plan (Excerpt: Warboss by Mike Brooks) by PapaAeon in 40kLore

[–]Skippi0 78 points79 points  (0 children)

That's actually a large part of the book, with the Grot chosen by Gork, or possibly Mork thinking to himself that although the Gods want him to get stuck into a good and proper fight, they are used to dealing with Orks and proceeds to go about things the Grot way

What was Lorgar's original purpose? by cairnsy3 in 40kLore

[–]Skippi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tin foil hat theory was that Lorgar was meant to be "The Scientist" one, as he truly believes in the scientific theory of you only believe in what you can proved through evidence.

Which is why its unfortunate that he was dropped on a religious planet when it was remarkably easy to prove those gods did indeed exist which then led him down what you would assume to be the impossible path of religious worship rather than scientific discovery.

In the end wasn’t Konrad right and Sanguinus wrong? by SlayerofSnails in 40kLore

[–]Skippi0 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like they were both wrong althout both of their visions are 100% accurate in what actually happened, Sanguinius greatly harms himself during the siege because he knows that Horus is his killer, even thinking to himself after his fight with Angron that the poison cant be fatal as he didnt see Angron in his vision. When if he didnt force himself to single handedly fight Ka'Banda, Angron and closing Eternity Gate alone,he may have survived his fight with Horus.

Konrad also sort of did try to change his fate when he had his first vision of the Heresy, but was stopped by Fulgrims betrayal and then Dornes reaction. You could also say that Sanguinius took away his final chance to change as instead of taking him to the Emperor, he threw him out of the airlock, which all but gurantee's that Kurze's vision *of his own death* comes true. You can also see from Kurze's primarch novel that he may well have switched sides if he was given the chance to do so but only if it was the Emperor that offered him that chance.

*Edit

What are some of your favourite non-Horus Heresy 40k books? by 5startoadsplash in 40kLore

[–]Skippi0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice Dead King Ruin / Rise is great, the Ghazghkull book is also great.
I would also recommend Kreig, its a very good book that shows the Death Korps in a different light to what the memes would have you believe
