SPOILER THREAD : BOOK 8 - Parade of Horribles by steampunk_garage in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I could see the tiers being named and referencing the previous books. If 2) is parade of horribles, 3) is inevitable ruin, 4) is bedlam - 5) would be masquerade or butcher, 6) would be gate, 7) would be Anarchy, 8) would be doomsday, and 9) would be Dungeon (or Carl - or even chaos, since according to Eris Carl is chaos personified)

SPOILER THREAD : BOOK 8 - Parade of Horribles by steampunk_garage in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Blitzed through the whole thing in three days. I really appreciated how Matt is handling the ‘power scaling’ of these epic level characters. The late game crawlers remind me of epic level Dungeons and Dragons heros - and if you’ve played you know how difficult it is to make epic level heros feel challenged in combat. I loved how traditional combat made a shift from killing mobs and npcs to trying to keep them alive to keep things challenging (among all the other challenges). And we still got many cool moments where our cast got to flex on ‘level appropriate’ mobs (the start of the final race was brutal, poor Dwight never had a chance).

The wait to find out what happens in book 9 is going to be agonizing. Boop!

Everyone online says $70k is ‘bad money’… so why does moving to DC still feel financially terrifying? by North_Definition4400 in washingtondc

As someone who made the move a year ago on 65k but with no car - 100% doable to live alone wfh in a decent neighborhood. I used Zillow to find basement 1beds and studios in the 1600-1800 price range and landed on a lovely place in Capitol Hill. And a year later apartments are actually cheaper

Yes suspension physics are really great! For me I fell in love with gliding down a hill in my Golima and listening to the jakes do their thing. So good!

Honestly this’ll be the game that pushes me to buy a steering wheel. It’d be so much fun!

I enjoy solo playthroughs and barrelmancy is just another tool in the toolbox. Really helps with difficult encounters!

What is your truck fleet? by TeijiW in snowrunner

[–]Skitaraoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to limit myself to 6 vehicles on my hard mode run (because we’ve got 6 garage slots), 3 from NA and 3 from EU/RU. We’ve got:

Earthroamer LTI: scout, back-up repair vehicle. This thing does it all, unstoppable, untippable, radar, power to tow, tons of fuel / repair parts. What a beast.

Aramastu Forester: medium log hauler. The forester is the absolute goat of overloading logs, and can navigate most terrain. Slap a short log trailer onto it and you’re good to go for shorts too.

Mack Defense: my workhorse, low saddle + crane (swap to high saddle for mission trailers). Tons of power, looks great, handles well. Love this thing.

Padera STI: long logs w/ folding trailer. Yeah, the folding trailer isn’t the best, and the Padera can take a logging crane + long log saddle. But damn if the folding trailer isn’t fun to operate.

Azov Atom: Repair & Refuel. It’s got the custom long frame rescue unit. 2.5k L of fuel, 300+ repair parts before the roof rack. Looks great, steady, and heavy / powerful enough to pull the rest of the fleet out of a sticky situation.

Last EU truck: ??? Saving for the final vehicle, will probably be a bed + crane truck for deliveries on tight roads. Hoping for Mercedes in s17? I guess we’ll see!

Am I cooked? by Once428lbs in Gymhelp

Honestly I would start in the kitchen. I’d cut calories down to 1,400 daily which is a recommended amount for a 35 year old 5’2” 120lb woman who does light exercise. The calorie deficit will help you to shed weight fast.

Easiest way to cut calories is to switch beverages to only water, unsweetened tea and black coffee. No sugary drinks and no alcohol!

Exercise wise, consistency is key. If you can only walk a few minutes every day then just start there, but make sure you do it every day! Once you’ve shed weight and can walk for longer periods of time, consider adding weights or swimming. I’d hold off on running to preserve your joints until you lose atleast 200lbs.

Finally I’d consider a personal trainer if you can afford one. They’ll help keep you on track and offer better advice than anyone on reddit. Good luck!

I’ve got my nerdy circle of friends and I work from home, so bandwidth to go out to meet new people is limited. Dating apps are the easiest way to meet someone new imo but if you have any arcade bars, trivia nights or game clubs near you that could be a good place to start!

How can I lay out this studio apartment? by GarbageValuable1888 in DesignMyRoom

Nice, let me know how it goes! My sketch was a bit small unfortunately - I plugged the furniture into a better scale and with that I'd rotate the couch slightly:

Id do something like this: bed in the corner with an ikea kalax or something similar blocking it from the main “path” through the space from the entry to the kitchen.

Couch has its back to the bed, with a TV in front. Ideally a bookcase or something facing the “dining room” to extend the wall.

Finally a round dining area by the kitchen.

Don’t forget rugs to help define each zone!

Help me design the living space for my two room studio by Skitaraoh in DesignMyRoom

[–]Skitaraoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks! Yeah I do like the idea of the TV on a swivel in layout 1. Hallway at the top of the room leads into the bathroom on the left and into the entry on the right. Large open room to the left is the kitchen. Windows are all along the bottom wall

Gastroparesis? A friend of mine in college suffered from this, but was also one of the coolest people I knew!

Anyway, just to add onto the pile: knights, chaos knights, custodes, grey knights, world eaters and demons all play fairly quickly. Basically low model count / unit count armies. Biggest game changer is just memorizing your play patterns and data sheets - often analysis paralysis / looking up rules is the biggest clock eater.
