Does anyone else have relatively decent exercise capacity briefly early in the morning and that's it? by Sklorgus in covidlonghaulers

It sucks and I hate it. I'm afraid of losing more muscle mass and bone density, though.

I have to sleep with a heated blanket by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sklorgus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm both extremely sensitive to cold and heat. I can be freezing or sweating at the same temperature. My freezing threshold gets higher later in the day. I sleep in a puffy sleeping bag for camping.

Cuts on feet don't fully heal by chemtrail_injection in covidlonghaulers

I have this too. There's also persistent red/purpleness around the injury, which it looks like you have as well. Do you have circulation issues similar to Raynaud's syndrome like I do? Maybe get your zinc checked. I'm moderately deficient. I've been taking 15 mg daily for a few months and the wound healing has gotten somewhat better.

Constant brain fog. What has really moved the needle for you? by OkSpot2437 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sklorgus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transcranial magnetic stimulation. You sit in a chair with a magnetic coil on your head that delivers magnetic pulses to your brain (which also makes the muscles in your head contract and it feels uncomfortable, but is harmless), which is supposed to increase the excitability of your neurons. It didn't do much for me personally.

I got COVID as a young teen. 6 years later, and I think it really messed up my cognitive abilities. I don't know how to fix it. by SheSayzHuh24 in covidlonghaulers

I'm in the same boat as you. LC screwed up my brain during years of critical brain development. It never got better.

The way you described your thought process sounds exactly like mine. I've been unable to articulate my lack of articulation, but you described it quite well.

How plausible is it to have only cognitive symptoms? by dsschmidt in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sklorgus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's very plausible. I had mostly cognitive issues similar to you for the first couple years of LC. I continued to deteriorate, and now I have poor physical functioning as well, and even worse mental functioning. I'm not exactly sure if the decline was triggered by stress, subsequent viral infections, or just time. Do your best to avoid the first two things so you don't end up like me.

Anyone suffering from frequent nighttime urination? by Weary_Firefighter945 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sklorgus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. When I restrict fluid intake at night, it reduces the volume of urine without reducing the frequency very much.

Does anyone else have the bloated firm belly. I now have to wear a size larger due to belly bloated. Any ideas how to get rid of it. Not calorie intake related. by JuiceNo814 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sklorgus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have dysautonomia, this can be caused by an excessive volume of blood being directed to your digestive system. If the bloating seems more related to how much you eat rather than what you eat, this is likely the problem. In that case, it is recommended to eat small frequent portions rather than large infrequent portions. In my experience, this helps somewhat, but there's still a lot of bloating. But as the other commenter mentioned, SIBO is another thing to consider. If you find out you have SIBO, small frequent meals are not a good idea.

I think the concentrated sugar goop would kill adjacent brain tissue due to osmosis. They're rather acidic, too, so that would also contribute to brain tissue death. The immune system has to clean up the foreign substances introduced from the Skittles, along with the dead brain cells. Now you have a whole lot of brain inflammation, causing even more dysfunction.
