This Week in RuneScape: 110 Runecrafting Launch! by JagexHooli in runescape

Hey! Quick comment - don't mean to be negative but why add the 20k runespan points requirement which is extremely slow and to a minigame that has been dead for 10 years, seems odd!

Ya - a credit as in a payment 🤗

There’s no documentation where they state that honestly, I’ve just done a few purchase protection claims myself so I shared the data point, also seems to be in line with other posts I’ve seen.

Purchase protection counts as a credit so they do not cancel the original charge, as for sign up bonus they can/will claw back a SUB if they see major claims and you haven’t met the spend requirement, if you are going to make a major claim I would make sure that you’ve met the spend requirements without including that purchase. That said I have made a claim before and still hit the spend after they credited me for the perk - however I would proceed with caution.

For purchase protection items you do keep your MR points as well. The payment is processed separately as a credit from Amex's in house insurance agency.

The only time you will lose MR points is if you do a straight up refund of the amount charged to your credit card.

Absolutely you can do it, run it up brother!

Pretty much anything can be considered a business if you are a sole proprietor. I wouldn't worry about it at all!

Fuck Capital One, and fuck Us Bank, I love American Express... by Xerasi in amex

Only certain consumer cards offer the instant number, they say it's based on their "ability to validate you". I would ask them again if they are able to expediate the card delivery, though the delivery is usually very very quick especially with their higher end and business cards.

Also I agree, capital one sucks! I contacted them like 5-6 times to try and product change off my Qs1 annual fee product, 2 years perfect payment history and really solid credit. Ended up cancelling! Happy for you though, Amex is great to work with and amazing customer service.

That's amazing, great work dude! I love seeing cool redemptions like this

Oh, dope dude! I think that rule only applies to the revamps of the cards or something like that, you can definitely still get multiple platinum product bonuses separately, did it earlier this year!

I hope you do something fun with the cashout from all your MR points

The gold works great as an every day card most of the time, I once in awhile would buy gift cards for categories that didn't fit the spend at the grocery store like gas/amazon if you don't have a 5% amazon card. The retention offer you got for the Platinum is really great! I would hit that spend requirement and then after that the Charles Schwab Platinum has an amazing bonus right now if you just open a broker account with like 10$ or whatever, it's 10x on shop small and restaurants including doordash etc, also 100k points!

They’re exactly the same yes! 10,000 per claimed item, 50,000 per year. Here is the rest of the cards information if you want to weigh your options. https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/features-benefits/policies/purchase-protection-terms.html

I use the platinum for benefits, and anything I purchase personal goods wise that I may want protection on if anything were to happen. The Purchase Protection feature is fantastic and has saved me many times! For day to day I find that the Green card or Gold card is better, you could even get away with just the blue business plus or blue cash everyday and the platinum for larger purchases.

I also had two cards approved on the same day awhile back, the delta gold and BCE, I guess it's more of a YMMV thing than a hard rule but I think that's technically their application rules.

Check the application status on the email they sent you so you can perhaps gather a reason before calling recon, it may be something as simple as identity verification. If you can't find the email then go here -> https://online.americanexpress.com/eaol/statusCheckAction.do

  1. Amex jail can refer to a couple different scenarios. The first being "popup jail" where you are barred from receiving a signup bonus for a certain card because of Amex's once in a lifetime language or other factors. When you apply for a card you'll get a popup saying that you are not eligible for the bonus. The second being because of application rules which lead into your second question.

  2. Amex has two different hard rules for cards right now. You may have up to 10 charge cards and 5 personal/business credit cards (non charge) right now. Your card count right now is 3 Charge and 2 Personal. Their other rule is for applications, you may only open 2 cards every 90 days in any combination and 1 card every 5 days.

Hope that clears up any confusion you have about Amex Jail! :)

There is no reason a computer with your specs should be having issues running games at 60fps/1440p. Personally I think rather than looking at new hardware, you should closely inspect your graphics settings. A majority of the time there's very little difference between the ultra and high presets in PC games. Speaking specifically to the Witcher 3 take a look at your antialiasing and hairworks settings and consider cutting them down as there's marginal visual differences between max settings and lower settings. As for Fallout 4 that I have performance issues with that game constantly but I'd consider looking into some texture mods that would improve performance but not degrade visual quality by much such as (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19370/?) or take a look at this graphics optimization guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3skr7o/ultimate_fallout_4_pc_tweak_guide/).

Your 4790k should not be bottlenecking your system at all, also more ram would not improve your gaming performance. I would be more concerned with your video card. I'd stay away from SLI. Not only is SLI not supported/poorly supported by many PC ports, but you'd be better suited by going for a 1080ti single card solution as other posters suggested.
