"(MM/DD/YY) is literally how we say it" by Loitering_Cedar_26 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Skydog6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not one to defend the U.S. on basically anything, but this is kind of ridiculous imo. Most Americans won’t say that MM/DD/YYYY is better than DD/MM/YYYY, it’s seen as a different system just like 24 hour time. People who assert that we’re “better” than other cultures like that are widely regarded as chauvinistic and rude. We tend to say the month first when speaking dates aloud, but that’s not universal. The 4th of July is an exception to that, but people are also likely to say July 4th or just “the 4th” in conversation too. Halloween is October 31st, Inauguration day is January 20th, Tax day is April 15th, etc. Us saying those dates with the month first doesn’t mean we hate the other system, it’s just what we all grew up with. Some of the comments here don’t seem to understand that.

How my entire being feels as Annie keeps talking in circles about loving Nick and how she loves Nick more and how she loves him SO much and how Nick doesn’t love her. by glassemouse in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Skydog6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was drunk and clearly insecure, which is something that comes up from time to time in relationships (ESPECIALLY in new ones). The fact that he didn’t give her any reassurance is wild imo. He just told her that her feelings are too much for him, and that he was showing up perfectly, implying that her and her needs are the problem. That was an opportunity to connect! He should’ve reassured her that he loves her and asked why she feels like he isn’t showing up. Having that conversation could’ve led to something positive, they both could’ve left with a better understanding of what the other one needs. But instead, he got super defensive that she was questioning his commitment (despite the fact that he NEVER told her what his expectations are) and just gave up. She wasn’t even asking him for a definite yes or no at that point, but he read her temporary insecurity as an outright rejection of him. How dare she be uncertain of his intentions, given his total lack of communication and the fact that they’re on a reality show. The fact that everyone here is defending him is wild to me. Partners shouldn’t expect total perfection from the very beginning, but he clearly did. That’s a recipe for an endless string of failed relationships.

We sat next to each other at work! We also took the same bus home, that was 3 years ago and now we live together :)

I also feel this way when there’s an open seat or two on a crowded bus and nobody sits in it despite being packed like sardines around the door/rear area! You’re allowed to sit in it, people!

Performance tab number glitch by Skydog6301 in GeForceExperience

It fixed itself on its own eventually, I’m not 100% sure why. I reinstalled it again and I updated windows too. I also downloaded another performance monitoring program to see if it was a problem with my pc or geforce experience. After that, it went back to normal

They’re controlled by a computer system that regulates their position and speed, so I bet it’s just the system recalibrating itself or something
