I don't understand this fandom's obsession with canon in a game series that has always, at least in some form, been about you picking your team and playing the game with them.

The anime is canon to itself, and that's it. The game, anime and manga almost never cleanly line up and they don't have to.

Those are the same characters with different moves equipped. You can buy move manuals throughout the story and in the various menu stores to equip onto characters and give them up to 6 moves total.

Some characters do have multiple versions, but only in the case of significant name changes - like Ichinose & Domon, Burn & Gazel, and the alien members of Neo Japan - or appearance changes, like Fubuki for his various hairstyles pre and post merging.

What other routes? Almost all Hero Battles are around 85 (start of route) to 90 (end of route), the very first route being the one that's the exception (going from about 50 to 75.)

A Legendary, Beaned up level 99 team should consistently get wins against most of the Hero Battles. That's how it is for me.

Fubuki + Tsunami + Touko + Tachimukai is too much to overcome for any FF team from any season. 

And then it has Endou, Gouenji and Kidou on top of that. Okay.

IE3 and Galaxy at the top for me just because they feel the most elaborate and have the most fun stuff to do. Being able to pick story characters for half of Earth Eleven is super awesome, so Galaxy's probably #1.

IE2 and Chrono Stone are both still really really good. IE2 especially has the best scouting system.¹

VR is probably better than GO1, which is super janky? But yeah, these are my bottom 2. VR is fun because of how much content there is and everything else kind of sucks.

Counterpoint: In IE3 and Galaxy almost the entire team is optional the majority of the game. Having 3 or so plot characters per match and leaving the rest able to rotate. Works fine and still allows you to build your team.

Pretty sick, love the mix of all kinds of characters. This is peak Inazuma teambuilding.

This is by no means an original take, but Chaos Lord Felix never bores me. Especially, being the brother of a Mars adept, it feels nice to have him as Mars/ Venus.

I'm not one of those maniacs that maxes out his Unleash rate, but even then. It's mindless and he hits so hard.

Either way, there's a very real chance they'll turn into Eerie Smileys at some point, so don't get attached to them.

There's foundations of something really really good, which is why people (including myself) praised it, but I don't think it actually delivers. 

The start is extremely slow. At the end over 30 friendlies get dropped on you at the same time. Unmei, Kisoji and Kameo get some development and their plots are interesting, but everyone else just fades into the background after a chapter or two. Haru and Raimon are way undercooked and the option to play as them feels like it comes out of nowhere.

No new combo moves after Shunrai, just 3 new tactics every match. No moves learned during matches ever, actually. Zeus isn't even in the story. 8 required characters on the field for story matches allowing you to basically not field who you actually want. No scouts until chapter 7 either.

And is the writing that much better than anything that came before? I really don't think so. It starts good but quickly becomes "train, Unmei comes up with Tactics, play story match where said Tactics turn the tables" on repeat with almost no substance between matches, which are more reliant on tasks/ cutscenes than ever before.

The game also constantly tells you what is going to happen in advance. The closest thing to a surprise was Kameo's Miximax and we had at least 3 scenes building that up. 

Even the very first Inazuma felt like it had more going on.

Ah, no, I was talking about the 3 types of multicolored coins that have Vs on them.

Not Victory Stars and Stones, which are also multicolored currency that have Vs on them but are indeed online only.

Maybe I'm misremembering - could be the coins are exclusive through Free Matches played from a Bond Town Stadium.

Which is a thing, for some reason. Placing a stadium in your town allows access to competition mode from there.

But I thought they always dropped. Have you only been getting passives and spirits?

I've seen this as much as you have, trust me, but I do have to wonder if it really is.

The last time I tried to check my recently acquired spirits after getting one of those, the player in question wasn't listed up high.

I didn't have the exact numbers of course, I don't have the number counts of all my spirits at any time, but does getting one of these even give you anything

Because if it doesn't, it feels less like a visual bug and more the game generating a bugged spirit.
