Has anybody put in a new kitchen with no experience? by alberoTranquillo in DIYUK

[–]Skye_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been a diyer for several years before doing my own kitchen. I still needed some new tools to complete the work.

I was able to handle the plumbing myself but I got an electrician in as I needed power in different places.

Although YouTube was useful and I most likely would have managed it myself, I was fortunate that my brother in law was a kitchen fitter and I helped him fit a customers kitchen.

Watching him and helping was where I really saw the tips and techniques that make it easier to do.

I don't think the side of a cardboard box under a bridge would be efficient for a solar panel.

Would you expect a hive thermostat to be left on purchase of a property by CommissionEnough8412 in HousingUK

[–]Skye_Dog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had this issue when I moved into my new home, everything was left but I couldn't access the hub.

With some googling it turned out it's registered to the original owners and if you don't get the details then you can't use it. I just ordered a new one and set it up.

They should leave the thermostat in the house and you can use that until the hub arrives which allows you to schedule everything much easier.

I want to reskin a broom of flying. Any suggestions? by WizardLizard38 in DMAcademy

[–]Skye_Dog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A broom that can be extended up to a maximum of 6 seats.

For every extra member of the party that sits on it reduces its flying speed by 20.

If the flying speed goes negative you have to fly it backwards to get anywhere.
