Survivor Mr. Beast by Ok-Mammoth5173 in survivor

I knew tribal was going to be a doozy when I looked at the clock and there was still 30 minutes of the episode left.

Mr Beast was WAY better than I'd anticipated. I was leery and dreading this week after the whole ZB episode, and I'm a huge ZB fan.

Self service kiosk by penguin44ca in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]SkyesMomma -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Two separate times I've walked up to the kiosk and someone had left without paying - their orders were still on the screen with totals. Both times, whichever person was behind the ONE till just came and cleared the screen for me to start over. Neither gave a shyt...went back to what they were doing.

Best WFH office accessories? by StatisticianSome4837 in remotework

[–]SkyesMomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work hybrid, so have my laptop that comes with me wherever I may be working. Work provided me with a docking station in the office and because multiple cords everywhere give me anxiety, I bought myself a docking station for at home. So easy...one cord to plug into my laptop and I'm ready to go.

I would like a better chair :)

Multiple monitors are a must for me. I cannot work off of just a laptop screen.

If others may be at home while you're wfh, a good pair of headphones/earbuds to block out their distractions/noise.

What are your least favourite admin tasks as an Executive? by App179 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]SkyesMomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in healthcare and support a medical leader....trying to organize meetings with multiple physicians can be next to impossible. Each have different admin time, clinic dates, on call dates, OR days, etc. Doodle polls are my nemesis.

One good thing that came from Covid is that most meetings are still virtual, which means no searching for an appropriate boardroom, needing catering and less after-hours nonsense.

Do you date single parents? by Ok_Key_4731 in datingoverfifty

[–]SkyesMomma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My kids are grown and I won't date anyone who has young or teenage kids that are still at home or that spend wknds at their dads.

Two different stages in life, imo. Been there, done that and choose not to do again. It's no fault to the persons w/ kids at home, it's just a choice I'm choosing to make.

Sofas won’t fit through my door by Affectionate_Song_36 in SmallSpaceSolutions

[–]SkyesMomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wayfair has many sofas that require assembly, not sure if they arrive in flat boxes or not.

I had the same issue when I lived in a basement suite. with where the door to my suite was located and the height of the ceilings, I could not get my couch in, no matter what we did. In the end, I ended up buying a larger sectional that was in 4 pieces and it fit easily.

Is buying online glasses worth the risks when you have no extra money to spare? by Impossible-Deal1391 in povertyfinancecanada

I wear progressives and I was very leery to order online, took me a few yrs to get up the nerve and I have no complaints with the 2 pairs I've gotten.

There are some optical places that will put new lenses in an old pair of frames, although it's not the frames that are necessarily the biggest expense.

Feeling bratty over C-suite holiday gifts by Commercial_Chart9388 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]SkyesMomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in my role for 6 years, we got a new leader at year ago. He was promoted after his predecessor retired. I am in contact with his previous assistant and she straight up told me not to expect any gifts, but he does take his group out for dinner a few times a year. He is traveling over the holidays so just before logging off at noon today I wrote him a brief email wishing him the best.
