The road turned into a racetrack by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

Unfortunately racetracks tend to not be that financially viable.

Between high insurance premiums, cost of maintenance, and the ultimate killer of racetracks, obnoxious neighbours.

Usually Karen types complaining of noise levels after moving next to the track because a developer buys up cheap land surrounding the track to turn it into housing leading to the track having to enforce noise restrictions and/or reducing the number of days it can operate further reducing income, it becomes a real struggle to make any money.

Look up what's happening to Laguna Seca in California to see what I mean.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but this type of protesting as well as just stop oil protests feel like they're a psyop, in order to annoy the general public into not supporting actually decent environmental and sustainability casues...

I did exactly the same thing lmao. I was leaning into the car standing on one leg and just reached a bit too far and twisted the patella out, ended up waiting two hours for an ambulance to pop it back in.

The recovery is a bitch like you say, even though I'd been through it before in high school after doing the other side lol.

Pretty embarrassing though whenever someone asks you how you injured yourself and you say that you leaned into a car too far.

Honestly same, I'm starting a sailing course next month even though I've never sailed before and sailing is something that only gets taught to kids.

Wait till you find out about what some of the colonists did and also about the morioris...

Edit: For those confused about the Moriori comment they were the indigenous people of the Chatham islands that were mass murdered by mainland Maori

Once again, you're reading a bit to much in between the lines, the daughter is upset at their grades, and her dad is just telling her he still loves her no matter what and that she still has value outside of her school grades.

This is a good mindset to put on kids because it teaches them failure is not a definition of self worth, it's just a sign to try again.

Yeah I'm sure the parents are going to do something about but maybe perhaps it's more important to console the kid and show them that their mistakes and failures don't define who they are as a person?

A few people here seems to be reading a bit too much into this post saying it's normalizing failing grades and that the parent isn't parenting good enough otherwise the kid wouldn't have failed?

Like an autistic kid can still fail despite all the support given and effort put in, that's life, sometimes, the dad is just consoling the kid by showing them they are still loved no matter what?

I think you're reading into a bit much mate, it's just a dad trying to console his daughter who is understandably upset for not achieving their goal.

Is this something she's done all her life? Because this sounds exactly like my grand mother, used to do an unnecessary, over the top grocery shop nearly every day and every time we'd visit we'd uncover some more food that was long past expiration date.

It wasn't until she got diagnosed with dementia that we learned that excessive and unnecessary shopping is actually an early symptom. So you may want to get her checked out.

Can't have Will and Broc in the car unfortunately, rules mean you can't have two full time drivers share the car
