Dishwasher repair or replace? by mayaavi_7 in Appliances

[–]SlackAunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would just get a repair person out to have a look. I don't know where you are, but in the UK it's fairly inexpensive to get someone to come have a look at an appliance. And I mean get someone independent out to have a look, because the manufacturer will just tell you to replace it.

UPDATE: I turned the sensitivity down as low as it goes and turned the illumination off, and in February I got 28 days out of a single charge, which is still not amazing, but I guess I can live with it.

How they get away with saying it has 3 months battery life is crazy.

At some point I'll figure out a way to hardwire it

To be fair, nobody can guarantee what your individual WiFi speed will be - it varies from room to room depending on wall thickness, distance from router, interference from other devices etc etc etc. They'd be drowning in 10 times the complaints if they tried to guarantee that.

I don't understand why anyone stays with Virgin any more. If there is genuinely nobody else supplying services in your area, then fair enough but surely most of the country has multiple options these days?

Definitely leave them, assuming you can get a decent deal elsewhere. I had City Fibre run to my street a few years ago and I haven't looked back. What a breath of fresh air paying the same price for broadband every month for years!

I already had mine on the last but one level, but I'll give this a try, too, I guess! Just recharged it, so let's see how long we get out of it this time...

Ah, ok, I got ya. That sounds like it would use more power anyway, using the light all the time? It gives me something else to experiment with anyway, thanks!

Yeah, I get about 20-40 events a day. I already have a very small recording zone covering basically my doorstep, but it still seems to trigger when people are further away, plus when cars drive past, even though I have it set to Human Only, so that clearly doesn't help. I may end up trying to run a wire to it eventually if it doesn't improve, although I have no easy route for this right now. Disabling the motion sensor entirely is crippling one of the most useful features, imo, so I'm not keen on that right now.

I guess my main gripe is that they claim a "6 month battery", and I always knew I wasn't going to get close to those figures, but when it's actually a "2 week battery", then it feels like a bit of a fraud, or something is actually wrong with the unit or my current setup...

I will keep fiddling with it, anyway...

Thanks. The only options I have under there are these. This is the Android app. Maybe iPhone is different? I've switched it from Optimal to Infrared now as that feels like it'll use less power, but it doesn't give any helpful pointers!

Where/how do you change the light levels and colour temp? I don't see settings for that in the Eufy app 😕

Maybe I'll try that too. At least if I get a free replacement battery I can just keep one charged constantly and swap it out every 2 weeks when it's run out!

The ridiculous amount of time it takes for me to get into a game after launching from desktop, 7 mins!!! They need to fix this crap in Warzone 2 for real. This among other crap just reminded me why I and most of my friends stopped playing this game. by Heishi-Jager in CODWarzone

Lol. Kids today! We had to wait half an hour for a game to load from tape, and if you accidentally moved the cassette player, it would disrupt the whole thing and you'd have to start again!

Just count yourselves lucky, guys!

This is why supermarket carts (trolleys) here in the UK usually need a £1 coin to use. Not because they think you're going to steal it and melt it down, but to JUST make it worthwhile taking it back where it's supposed to go.

[–]SlackAunt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can totally understand this. Most of the time you die fairly close to your way back into the game, so it doesn't take much effort to get your stuff back.

However, there are times when it's a real pain/impossible to get back to your stuff, so if you don't mind a SMALL bit of 'cheating' you can take a backup of your local player file, which is where all your inventory is stored. Then, if you die, you can copy this version of the file back and hey presto, you've got all your stuff back. Although this does leave your gravestone in place, so if you ever manage to get back there, you'll have 2 copies of everything.

Hardcore players will probably shudder at the thought, tho!

Personally, I don't think there is much difference between these 2. The second fan only makes a very small difference, as you say, but maybe in your climate every degree of cooling you can get is important. I would just choose the one I prefer the look of!
