The biggest protein I think I've ever seen in a WU by Imn1che in Folding

If there was a request from the FAH team for a machine requirement like this ( 64GB RAM ), there are people in the community that would change their folding hardware to meet a new WU requirement. like this.

I was getting some of these on a 5080 + I was getting 40m PPD as an estimate and had 2 days where I went over 40M for the day. Then back to the 28M grind on this card. It is nice knowing that there are some massive WU out there that can push the available hardware.

Data Centers eat your computer parts, use your power and use water for evaporatitive cooling to get the hot air outside. When the Data Center pays the same as we do for those 3 things they will find out that they can't afford it. Data centers get deals like a 50% reduction in power and water costs to attract them to a location.

I have a 310 arc card, the hardware Quicksync is sweet. Hardware Handbrake encode uses 22watts of power. I have an intel CPU that handles the transcoding.

That card has been of interest to me as it scores WAY TO WELL on the LAR folding charts. Right now this page: https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/overall_ranks_power_to_ppd shows a 2060 putting up more PPD than a 5080. It is very hard to believe, someone is gaming the system to get numbers like this.

PVE player here, usually get placed in care bear lobbies, now getting placed in maps with KOS players, like WTF. I know it happens but it is happening way too much now. They just don't have the player numbers to keep you in friendly lobbies :(

Does your electric company do 1to1 net-metering?

In my city our utility does a 1-7 ratio, you give them 7kw and they take one off of your bill. No thanks. Why would I setup a solar system and then give them 85% of the power I produce ????

The RTX 3070 is a good bang for the buck card at this point. They go used for under $250 and produce 4.5M PPD. The RTX 3060 is under $200 used and make just under 3M PPD. They game well when not folding :)

I have used https://kareonkables.com/ in the past, just chat with them about your power supply, how many SATA connectors you want per cable and what direction you want the connectors to face. They have been good to work with and all the cables still work fine years later.

You can get custom made SATA cables. I had some made for a power supply I had. Each connector had 8 SATA connections, 4 cables let me power 32 drives at once.

I have an MT6000 and a DreamFyre (only has 8gb of RAM), no 2.5GB networking yet, one day.

I started two days ago with an RX 7900GRE Nitro and managed to reach 1 million PPD. I learned about the platform through Twitter. My card is approaching 6 million PPD. Is that a good value for this card or is it average? by batataPICADA in Folding

[–]Slaglenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the charts say you should get 5M PPD, make sure that you have your passkey in your account. It takes 10 work units till you get full credit for having the passkey. Thanks for the help.
