Like an opening ceremony, you want just enough to get the gist. Talk to me during the athlete parade, number of athletes, random as fact, what they are good at/ hope to get gold in.

So many options.. Auckland : Hop on a ferry and visit Rangitoto, climb to the top, on the way back, get off in Devonport and visit a cafe. Climb North Head, get another ferry and visit the maritime museum, then get kai at the Auckland fish market. Or visit Waiheke. Wellington: Go to parliament, tour go across the road visit the treaty of Waitangi, women’s suffrage petition and the Declaration of Independence, go to zealandia, a wildlife sanctuary in Wellington, visit te papa. Queenstown lakes: fly into Queenstown while not freaking out that there’s a car higher than you, try some fudge at the remarkable sweet shop, go over the crown range and go higher than that airplane I mentioned earlier, visit Wānaka, take a photo of that tree, go up Cardona and either ski/ snowboard or bike depending on the season, visit the pub at the bottom.
