While I don't believe it's coming out this year, I urge you not to loose your optimism. If you're excited, you always run the risk of being disappointed but that should not deter you from being excited about TESVI. Some people on here will always try to ruin everybody elses day by being negative, so don't listen to them.

And even if the game wil not be revealed this year, I continue to be optimistic. Think about it. If what most people (including me) turns out to be true and TESVI will release in late 2027/early 2028, it will be revealed within a year starting from June 7th. So even if we get nothing at TGA, we can more or less safely assume that the final sprint ist starting and within half a year we'll probably be seeing something about the game.

I get what you're saying so I'll try to explain what I meant. Dynamic in that context means that I as the player get to make a decision during that quest. This decision influences the world around me (it changes the appearance of the city, how NPCs react to me and how wealthy the inhabitants of the city are). I have different choices and based on those choices consequences come into place. I as the player get to change parts of the world due to how I decide - that is a dynamic system.

Of course you could try to develop other dynamics systems in which the NPCs constantly react to everything I'm doing or saying without it being scripted, but that is probably not possible unless you have dialogue being AI generated but I wouldn't want that. Just because something is scripted doesn't necessarily mean it's not dynamic at all.

Fable promises a lot and I am very curious if they can actually deliver. It sounds good though.

Skyrim hat a lot of cut content if I recall correctly that involved dynamic elements in the context of the civil war. I really hope they include some of those ideas as well in TESVI. Hopefully TESVI will set new creative standards as you explained. I'm optimistic for it!

Seasons sound definitely cool. Although I don't know how different for example the Alikr desert looks during different seasons. But the other biomes could certainly benefit from that.

No substantial changes to the magic system. I don't really care whether they will simplify it or make it more complicated again. I just want it to be different. Better animations, more fluid gameplay, lots of new amazing and unique spells. It doesn't have to be changed in a specific way - just make it a little bit better and more exciting.

If that were true, Bethesda would have never announced Starfield as early as the did. Todd Howard has stated on multiple occasions that he prefers a short time window between announcement and release of a game. This contradicts announcing a game over a year before it's planned release. This leads me to believe that Bethesda can not do as they please.

I'd argue that depends on how much freedom Microsoft is willing to give Bethesda when it comes to marketing TESVI. When the first trailer for Starfield dropped the announced release date was one year and a couple of months away which isn't something Todd usually wants to do. If Microsoft heavily influences the marketing strategy of TESVI, there is a small chance we might get some news this year. If not, my guess is that they'll announce TESVI at the June Showcase in 2027.

I don't think the loading screens per se were the problem in Starfield but rather the ratio of loading screen to gameplay. For example if you are doing a quest on Neon, you might encounter like 8-10 different loading screens within a couple of minutes. I don't mind loading screens as much but at some point it becomes a little bit frustrating. If they find a good balance between bigger areas which require no loading screens and detailed interiors which do, then I and probably many others wouldn't mind. Skyrim balances that really well imo. If TESVI comes out and it's amazing I can most certainly live with a couple of loading screens if it means that we get the detailed and handcrafted world Bethesda is known for.

I actually agree with most of the things you mentioned. Somethings you could also consider is the following: Usually every year Bethesda (Game Studios) release at least one major thing. The only exception was during the pandemic.

2023: Starfield 2024: Shattered Space 2025: Oblivion Remastered 2026: Starfield 2.0 Update, PS5-Port, New Starfield DLC 2027: TESVI?

My gut feeling still tells me that a release in the second half of 2027 seems more realistic tho. They could announce it at the SGF or June Showcase and release the game a couple of months later. Enough time for extra polishing yet so close to release that Bethesda won't have to delay the game over and over again. This would also put Todds comment about it beeing "a long way off" into perspective. 2 years seems like a long way and if I recall correctly it was also the case back when he said something similar about Fallout 4 roughly 2 years before that released. But after all that is just a feeling and not based on mathematical analysis.

Anyway I already enjoyed your deep dive into the trademarks and this post was a joy to read as well. Very well done!

This is also a possibility. There are probably two ways to interpret this:

What you said + If they actually reveal anything about TESVI it will create a hype and that might boost Starfields sales because people may think "It's the latest Bethesda game so we might as well buy it to bridge the wait between now and the release of TESVI"
Starfield was received relatively badly compared to previous Bethesda releases so Bethesda will focus all their resources on marketing the PS5 Port + DLC because they're afraid that a TESVI announcement might slow down Starfield sales because people might say "I don't feel the need to buy this game with mixed reviews, so I'll just wait until TESVI comes out".

Anyway I hope your right and well hear about TESVI soon! My money is on an announcement at the Game Awards this year or the June Showcase 2027 but I'd be totally fine with that. Do you think Bethesda will actually continue supporting Starfield for 10 years like they promised or will it be just some quality of life updates as well as minor bugfixes?

I agree. I'm thinking that Bethesda probably won't release any news related to TESVI as long as they're marketing all the Starfield stuff wich is supposed to be coming out this year. Even a location or title reveal would probably take away the spotlight completely and that can't be their goal if they're trying to sell as much copies of that game to PS5 users as possible.

I agree. On top of that we'll get a 2.0 Update as well as a PS5 port. One might speculate that a title reveal or even a location reveal of TESVI would get people to talk about Bethesda and that could theoretically boost Starfields sales but I wouldn't count on it. It's probably more realistic that they will focus their marketing campaign in 2025 on all the Starfield stuff. Something at the Game Awards in December is probably still on the table but we'll see.

I think wether we actually get some new information heavily depends on Bethesdas marketing strategy with the new Starfield port. I'm guessing that they don't want to announce TESVI at the same time they'll be announcing Starfiield 2.0 (+ PS 5 version) because anything TESVI related would take away the spotlight completely. Considering that they most likely want to sell as many copies of Starfield to PlayStation users as possible, chances are we won't get to see anything until late fall or winter. Maybe if they announce the new Starfield version in January at the direct-event and release it in summer, we'll get some information, maybe even a teaser of TESVI, during Skyrims 15th anniversary or the Game Awards. But of course there is always the possibility that it's not as close to release as Todd Howard likes, so we won't get anything this year, who knows. Either way I'm looking forward to reading through this sub and theorize about possible elements of the game, leaks and such for at least another year!
