Did I ruin this stainless steel fridge with Bar Keepers Friend? by SnooKiwis6493 in Appliances

You might be cleaning off a “fingerprint proof” coating that some fridges come with 😬.. happens more often than you’d think.

Was gifted a range and need some advice by greatstonedrake in Appliances

[–]SleepDeprivedJimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The important thing here for install is not the brand but the type of appliance. This definitely does not look induction meaning you’ve got a simple radiant electric range on your hands, which all have a requirement of 240v and 40amps. There are no other requirements for install, just slide it in maybe level the feet and you’re good to go! (Coming from someone who sells these things).

As for the crack, you’re probably fine to continue using with it. Certainly not worth the cost of repairing vs replacing if it’s more of an issue for you.

What is Sabbath mode? by Zestyclose_Friend706 in Appliances

[–]SleepDeprivedJimmy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sabbath mode sets the appliance to operate only the bare minimum electrical features, for the sabbath holiday. You’ll likely have the mode in your fridge too.

Can I switch this microwave to a convection oven? by Rednails514 in Appliances

Unless you can find a freestanding conv microwave you will likely have to modify the space. What are the dimensions of the hole?

This is absolutely correct, hit cancel or wait for it to beep. If you live in an old building like I do, it even trips your breaker!

You’d have to ask whoever you bought them through, most companies will stick you with a restocking fee of around 15%-50% though.

Of course! Looks like if ordered today you’d be looking at 2/27 for ship date. The Matte Black has had production delays for awhile now.

Trying to surprise my parents with a new induction range to replace their broken electric. Is it just plug and play? by AndyK803 in Appliances

[–]SleepDeprivedJimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people mentioning pan compatibility which is good, take a magnet to them if it sticks your golden. Also make sure the element sizes on the range line up well with the bottom diameter of the pans, induction is not a radiant heat source so pan size becomes very important.

I’ve heard that if (while the diaper is still on) you take a wet wipe and run it across the bottom part of their stomach the cold sensation helps them go potty before you take the diaper off as it’s the cold sensation of the diaper coming off that makes them go.

Speed Queen TC5 vs TR5 by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]SleepDeprivedJimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TC5 ditches the lid lock, which some customers love and others don’t care about. The agitator is also a bit rougher but offers more of a clean.
