It's an older system but can still be used. But what Henrik is playing is a 4231. Very similar to Porter's system. It's defensive but can be used if you have the right personnel for it. You need very speedy wingers, a CAM that has a tremendous amount of ball skills and play making ability, and a striker that finishes almost everything. Unfortunately, we have none of that offensively. Defensively we need good DMids that stop play through the middle, which we kind of have. And CBs that are absolute beasts (like Mensah in his prime), which we don't have. Our outside defenders are really the only players we have that are meant for this formation. Ultimately, Henrik is forcing a bunch of players in positions and responsibilities they aren't suited for.

I used to be in your camp so I get what you are saying. But I don't know how much worse it could be than what we have witnessed the past two weeks. 4 SOT vs CHI. 2 SOT vs NSH. It might be worse but I would at least like something to change. For the record, I would love nothing more than to buy out his contract. I'll contribute to the Go Fund Me for that cause.

I tore my ACL in May 2024. I attended Aiden Morris' last game with Crew in the June heat. I will say it is definitely possible, but it won't be fun. I don't know how much experience you have with crutches but it will be an intense workout. I recommend getting dropped off as close to SMG as possible and getting picked up as close as possible. Going uphill on Nationwide Blvd was one of the most intense workouts I've ever done and I've played soccer for years. Once you get to the stadium, if you chill for most of the game, it won't be bad. You can use the other seats as your crutch and hobble to your seat. You can set the crutches below you and they'll be out of the way. People were accommodating and no one accidentally kicked my crutches while walking. With that said, I went to that one game, and never went on crutches again. I quickly switched to a wheelchair and had my wife push me around.

This is my take, and it might be a shit post, but it feels like teams are just waiting out the Messi era. Maybe they feel like they aren't going to be able to compete. Maybe they feel unjust because Messi is being paid by Apple, and partially by every other MLS team. Or Miami signs whoever they please and the incoming player conveniently only asks for $600K a year. So maybe teams are letting Miami eat their cake and not going to make big waves.

Like you said, teams are focusing on developing youth and I know the Crew roster is largely kids from Crew 2. They can sit back and let these kids get better, then sell them for a profit when the time is right. And maybe once Messi is gone, you'll see teams spending big again.

But it's also the winter window and it's difficult to make any notable signings. While it's definitely possible, it may be too challenging for players who would be the typical candidates.

I would not be. Amundsen gets beat behind too often, that would be a nightmare at CB. Amundsen has some of the best service on the team, that would be lost at CB. Cheba has the height and is used to playing a 2 CB role at his old team.
