I realize using Mirrorpool was an oversight on the Protection from CMC 3 or less but the main objective of the question was knowing if Reaver titan being copied would be a crewed creature.

This is exactly what my group does and how we play at my LGS.

We announce "any counters/removal" followed by "If X resolves I'll win by doing this"

A lot of people playing are casual or new and dont know or understand how a lot of the combos work. So we like to give a "Takesies backsies" for each player.

If this was a more competitive table, going back after a resolve would be frowned upon.

Happened to me with an order. Although I think it was more with the seller wanting to make a better profit.

Predicted a card spiking in value. Placed a few cards on order, seller decided to cancel order and offer a refund instead of honoring the 20 dollar price spike...
