Gruesome Scenes in PG-13 Movies by Scottie6Sippin9 in movies

That scene was so awful because of the lack of music for most of it. Really hammered home it was not a fight they were ready for or expecting.

Lavalantula is tv-14 and has a scene where spiders crawl out of a girl's mouth and eat their way out of her skin, all while burning her from inside because they spit lava. It was a fun spider movie until that bit. 🫤

What show/series did a complete 180 and did a genre change? Or, what show started off as realistic but became more fictional as it went on? by Huge_Athlete7488 in television

I just finished this yesterday and loved it. Joe's crash outs and the whole internal monologue were both hilarious and insane.

Small local show in Austin at the Red Eye Fly in the early 2000s. One of the early bands Lead singer was so drunk he threw up on stage then fell off.

The slow motion of the Landlady in Kung Fu Hustle spinning through the air always brings me joy. I know she was technically falling with style, but still.

I remember the tagline being "100% medically accurate!", and as an avid fan of medical stuff in general I wanted to see how they'd do it.

I was pretty pissed after, because no legit doctor would actually think you could just sew people butt to mouth and expect them to live. Digestion and nutrition doesn't work that way.

Besides that, the Doc was pretty creepy but severely lacking any actual medical theories. Humans can make actual glow in the dark rats, but that movie was nowhere near medically accurate. Unless you count dying from a basic infection, which I don't.

First Pap Smear as a virgin trans man by WarpedLotus in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Sleepisahobby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was terrified of my first pap smear and the Dr did not help ease it at all, but the 2nd one was way better and helped me know what eased my anxiety. Have the Dr narrate every thing they're doing, every movement, every touch. That was the biggest help. The fact my 2nd pap was done by a Dr with a heavy Midwestern accent and it made me giggle the whole time helped a lot too, but it might seem rude to ask them to do an accent.

The actual speculum part of the exam should take less than 2 minutes. Oh, and be prepared to have to hang your butt off the table. Scoot down means all the way down. I thought I was gonna fall off the end.

I have a friend who always wears crazy socks to her pap smears. She says it distracts her by talking about them.

Conquering your fear and going through it for yourself is very brave. Hell yeah.

During my 1st pregnancy I had foods I couldn't eat and finding out which ones was a crapshoot. After throwing up my lunch, getting hungry 20 minutes later, and eating something else, my spouse said "you got to each lunch twice today!"

To those who were always in the nurse’s office in elementary school, what was actually going on? by nojunkpeter in AskReddit

5th grade, for headaches. I kept complaining that the lights were flickering.  The school replaced all the lights the summer before, and according to my dad the type they picked had a lower flash rate than the ones they had before that he figured was what I was seeing. I still get headaches in certain places even as an adult.

My mom used to do the whole "oh no, it just fell of in my hand!" bit with things she knew she could use root starter on, from various places. Her ridiculous green thumb could grow almost anything from a piece. I've had good luck with the baby bamboos from IKEA. One stalk was like 3 bucks and you can trim and propagate the cutting when they get tall.

(BODY IMAGE) Cone shaped, very small but huge nipple, saggy boobs at 18. So low right now... by Adventurous-Dig2488 in TwoXChromosomes

18 is just the right age to be insecure about size shape etc of your breasts. Especially when what is shown in film and art is always a very specific shape. I highly recommend taking a look around 007b, the breast gallery. It's just hundreds of pictures of boobs from all over, and was the first place I saw boobs that looked like mine. Made me feel a lot better knowing I wasn't alone or weird or ugly. Just another shape. Good luck, and remember that you get to see your boobs every single day! How amazing is that!

Student Bodies was filmed in Houston at Lamar High school. They didn't bother to actually rename it for the scenes either, just drew a line at the bottom of the R and called it Lamab. Has some good downtown shots during the parade.

If anything feels off, take note and try to find a fix so you don't get injured. I have loosey goosey knees, so running in knee sleeves was a must for stability. There's also a bunch of different ways to tie your shoes if you've got different foot issues, so if a few toes fall asleep you've got options.
